Resumo: The project takes place in leisure center Mikado for children and youth in Vysoke Myto or in ceramics class in Litomyšl.
Myto and Litomyšl are small townsin Easter Bohemia with 12 000 inhabitants. The project is prepared for 2 volunteers. EVS is a long term (9 months) individual activity. The main topics of the project are education through Sports and Outdoor Activities and Art and Culture.
We need creative active and comunicative persóna. Such persons will feel at home here. The volunteer will participate in our everyday life in Mikado and regular (art and sports) activities in our club for children and youth, they will lead their own workshops and projects. Volunteer can join most activities organized by Mikado e.g. workshops, discussions, activities for children and their parents or summer camps. She or he will visit local schools and inform children and students about life of people in their native countries. All initiativities from volunteer are wellcome. We will help her with developping of her or his abbilities

The House of children and youth Mikádo has been established for 25 years. DDM is a house with eight clubhouses and with a tea club. We work with children and adults in their spare time. We offer regular and occasional holiday and spontaneous hobby activities, exhibitions in the areas of sport, aesthetic, social science and natural sciences. For example: dance courses, floorball, volleyball, art courses, ceramic courses, chess, languages, and fishing courses……..There are several courses for children every day at DDM. In the morning there are courses for 2-3 years old children and their mothers, in the afternoon there are courses for school children. There arn't regular activity during summer months at DDM, but there are summer camps and individual projects. Those projects are prepared by team of employees and the volunteers. There is a bigger project twice a year , where 1000 - 2000 participantes , and approximately 5times a year there is the project for 500 participants (group from our town - children and adults) There are mostly projects for families.

Perfil: We are a creative, open and active group. We welcome the same person with readness to learn Czech language and do everyday work with children and youth.

Tarefas: The volunteer will assist the educational staff and the leaders of groups. Irregular leisure time activities run during the entire year.
For example: weekend trips, competitions, exhibitions, weekend activities, summer and winter camps. Volunteers will help with the preparation of programmes for these activities and with course. For example Sant Nicolas Day ,Day of children - preparation of games, competitions, leadership of activities during this day, …
- It is necessary to be flexible and work more hours during the summer camp activities as it does not follow standard schedule. Our work is not regular and therefore we would welcome helpful person, who will not mind prearranged changes. According to the EVS rules the volunter will work 35 ours per week. In case of weekend work the volunteers can take days off. We are open to discussion on these times.

- The actual work of the volunteers will be based on working with children and young people. They will learn to organize their own activities. They will work in a large group of people which will help them to improve their social and communication skills.

- The volunteer can to work on their own projects
- Volunteers can cooperate with other organizations in our town (schools, library) to present their culture.
- The volunteers will work with children and youth.
- The volunteer can choose and participate on regular activities or courses according to his abilities and interests. Whether his hobby is sport or fishing.
