Resumo: Looking for deaf volunteers to Denmark . To work in Castberggaard, a Danish folk high school for deaf people.

Assistant teacher:
In this assignment you will be connected to the team teaching the class called ”Frontrunners”. “Frontrunners” is an International leadership training program for deaf. The participants are aged 18-30 and come from all over the world.
The program consists of three modules and will focus on subjects like “Project Management”, “Deaf Community” and subjects related to leadership across the deaf world. The participants will create their own projects. The projects will be managed either in their home country or in developing countries
The aim of the program is to give the students the necessary tools to be able to make a difference; learn more about deaf people’s rights and conditions for deaf throughout the world.
You will be part of the team of three teachers as a resource person and take part in the scheduled education. Depending on your wishes and skills you will take part as teacher or coordinator on various projects and areas. The execution of the tasks will be done in close cooperation with the other teachers of the team. You will be assigned a mentor to ensure a successful execution of the tasks.

You will also be responsible for the social life and the leisure part of the students i.e. initiating community activities in the evening and in weekends and excursions round Denmark. Furthermore, you will be the student’s contact to the Danish Deaf environment through DDU (Danish Deaf Youth Federation) and DDL (Danish Deaf Association).

IT and Webdesign:
In this assignment you will be part of the team of webdesign and IT Technical Support. In cooperation with the team you will be responsible for updating and managing a variety of websites for deaf as well as developing new sites and apps.

At Castberggård we work in particular with Apple products such as MacBook pro, iPad and iPhone. If you are familiar with these products this will be a plus, since there will be an opportunity to teach staff and students in the use of them.

The Danish Folk High Schools offer non-formal adult education. Most students are between 18 and 24 years old and the length of a typical stay is 4 months. You sleep, eat, study and spend your spare time at the school. There are no academic requirements for admittance and there are no exams - but you will get a diploma as a proof of your attendance.
