Resumo: The Polish Robert Schuman Foundation is a non-governmental and non-political organization working on a local, national and international level. Our aim is to encourage Polish citizens to actively participate in the process of unifying Europe and spread the idea of multiculturalism. The Foundation develops programs teaching how to make use of the opportunities given by The EU membership. We cooperate with a variety of institutions within the EU and outside it in order to know better and acknowledge democratic values. The activities of the Foundations include organizing conferences, seminars, trainings, debates and discussions on different topics, publishing a monthly bulletin on European issues and other thematic publications, coordinating a European School Club network (around 1200 school clubs), organizing exchange projects by actively involvement in European volunteer movement and arranging study tours of Ukrainian and Byelorussian youth workers to Poland. The biggest and the most popular annual event organized by the Foundation is “The Polish European meetings”, where thousands of activists from different pro-European organizations meet and exchange the ideas and information and walk down the streets of Warsaw in so called “Schuman Parade”.Our Foundation has been actively involved in European Voluntary Service programme since 2000 and we act as a sending, hosting and coordinating organization.
Tarefas: The volunteer can get involved in different projects depending on their wishes, aspirations and capabilities. The main task for the volunteer is to get actively involved in the network of European School Clubs (ECS) in Poland. Volunteer is included in the organization of yearly international meetings for ESCs and in the management of a website devoted to European School Clubs (www.euroclubnetwork.eu). He/She helps preparing newsletter and manage forums. Schools invite volunteers to present their countries, culture and tradition. Volunteer can also prepare workshops on themes they feel passionate about. Moreover, German and Ukrainian speaking volunteers can help in the Polish-German-Ukrainian Forum Tri.net.Volunteers at the Foundation gain a lot of organizational skills, they have a chance of working in an international team, participate in different projects and travel all over Poland presenting their country or leading workshops on subjects they feel passionate about.
