Resumo: Infotreff is a youth information center situated in the German speaking Community of Belgium. We are a non-profit organization with an administration council. In the centre, 1 person is working full time and 3 persons are working half time. Our public is especially youngsters between 14 and 25.
Beside being a sending and hosting organization for the EVS we inform about 6 areas: work - studies - leisure time - sexuality - social matters -rights. We also conceive our own information material (brochures, leaflets, radio shows and a holiday guide for the activities during the summer period). During the year we also organize different activities with the aim to attend youngsters at several levels (games, prevention campaigns, forums,…).

Perfil: The volunteer will be selected according to criteria of motivation, teamwork and interest in working for young people. Furthermore, the volunteer must have an interest and skills in communication and new media. Knowledge (even basic) of the German language could be an advantage.

Tarefas: Proposed activities for EVS volunteers: The volunteer will work at the youth information center and gain a comprehensive insight into the organisation and daily work of the center and its projects. After some weeks of mainly monitoring the youthworkers at their daily work, the volunteer will start to support the team in the daily work such as helping in developing new paper information for the youngsters (leaflets, brochures, …), selling concert cards, updating the webside and the database of leisure activities, helping with the documentary management, collecting information on new subjects etc. The volunteer will also support the planning, organization and realization of information events on various topics in local schools and youth clubs. The volunteer could give new ideas of what might be interesting for a special target audience, come up with ideas on how to reach youngsters with a special subject and develop new projects (in cooperation with the youthinformation-workers or independently). We would especially like to develop new projects in the field of new media and communication and it would be part of the volunteers work, to help in developing new projects in this field - in coherence with her/his own skills and personal talents. The volunteer will be provided with language courses - either German or French.
