Resumo: With this project we want to address the needs of our young people and community of being integrated in a peaceful and cooperative world, our needs as an organisation that has operated at international level for over 85 years and wants to continue doing so, and those of fellow organisations that like us still believe in the European project.

Specifically, we want to give the opportunity to young people from the UK to be better informed about the EU and be able to play an active part in European life at an historical point in history in which the concept of a European Union is being challenged. We also want to give the organizaion the opportunity to remain involved in European activities and partnerships. With our project and the involvement of a large group of young people, we aim to build a future in which the young people of the UK and especially Scotland can make more informed decisions about their future and can achieve greater participation in local and international public life.

We believe that the young people that will be involved will have the chance to develop personally and professionally by being active in society, both locally and internationally; they will be able to develop a better awareness and understanding of Europe, not only in theory but also by directly living and volunteering in Europe, with the added value of the theoretical preparation received prior to the experience. The project will better equip them for their personal and professional future and will help them to decide whether they want to "remain" in Europe, and will enable to them to articulate why (or why not!).

Ultimately, we want them to become ambassadors in preventing radicalisation, promoting diversity, intercultural dialogue, and the common values of freedom, tolerance and respect of human rights that are at the basis of the concept of a united Europe.

Perfil: Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The project will see the involvement of 27 partners (one for each EU members country) hosting 27 EVS long-term volunteers from the UK on a 6-month placement each. The activities of the EVS projects will be focused on European awareness and citizenship. The project will see the organisation in the UK of 3 seminars and a follow-up event, which will involve local associate partners active in the field of European and current affairs.
