Resumo: The aim is to provide customer-oriented services to young people while listening to their needs. The youth policy underlying the youth services includes the improvement of young people’s living conditions and their opportunities to have an influence, the supervision of their interests and bringing their concerns to public knowledge.

Perfil: We are looking for volunteers who are over 18 years old, outgoing, initiative and capable to work with children and youth. It´s important to have the ability to process own views of the activities, and capability to plan and carry out/implement activities for children and young people.

The age range of youth is from 10 to 29 years, emphasising to youngsters between 13-17 years.
Because of the housing arrangements it is important, that volunteers are capable of living together with a person coming possibly from a different cultural backround. Adequate english skills are also preferred.

Tarefas: The project provides both the young EVS volunteers as well as children and youth from Kerava an opportunity to internationalise and gain a learning experience from cultural interaction.

The volunteers will take part in the various activities of the Youth Services. They will participate in the activities for 9–17-year-olds in the youth houses and mobile unit by organising e.g. multicultural education in an afternoon club and by taking part in youth evenings. They will help out in the youth workshop together with the instructors. All activities will be carried out together with the youth workers. During holidays (autumn, winter and summer holiday), various events involving the EVS volunteers will be organised (e.g. downhill skiing trips, children’s summer camps at the Kesärinne camping centre). The city youth services provide services to young people year around.
