Resumo: The host organization is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation combining professional and voluntary work in the field of human rights, personal and social development of children and young people. We are dealing with problems that concern young people: at school or studying, in relationship with others, poverty and social exclusion, unemployment, drug abuse, violence… through programs; Counselling, Training of social skills, Assertiveness training, Workshops, Adventure playground and International youth work.

We are directed towards social integration, youth empowerment, creating conditions for social skills learning, searching for constructive ways of facing and solving life challenges, accepting responsibility for one's own life, encouraging active participation of young people in and outside of our programs and increasing the quality of life in local communities. Our work follows professional doctrines and methods of approach that strengthen and increase opportunities that improve young people's social integration. We work against unnecessary, misleading, and offensive categorizing of people; we also consider the principles of good practice when working with people (personal approach, acceptance of diversity, non-discriminatory views, and working towards solutions).

A young and innovative team of social workers, pedagogues, trainers and volunteers are working in Ljubljana and Maribor with surroundings. Together we are group of nearly 50 workers, using methods of individual and group counselling and playwork in communitys. Every year nearly 4000 children and young people take part in our programs.

Perfil: We would like to host volunteers who are looking forward to play all day long. We are looking for enthusiastic and initiate young people (minimum age 21 years), who like to work with children and peers, are ready to learn and share their knowledge, experiences and beliefs, who are responsible and reliable, have a positive relation to other cultures, nationalities, religions and like to work individually as well as in a group. Experience in working with children are welcome, strong advantage would be musical and or landscaping skills and interest or experience in movie production.

Tarefas: We would like to invite two volunteers to play, work and learn at Adventure Playground. Volunteers will be active team members at the playground, invited to learn by taking part in our activities, such as playing and creating with raw materials, building different playing and other objects (wooden huts, different features), creating playground equipment and play tools, playing social and group games and promoting play. Theme projects that add the value to our playground and derive from needs and wishes of children, offer an excellent opportunity for volunteers at developing their own projects; various workshops (dance, puppet, theater, music, art, creative science etc.). Volunteers will be encouraged to propose their ideas and take initiative to run personal projects within the frame of our association's activities. Working time is 3 days per week at the playground (outdoor, at any weather circumstances) and 2 days in the office or on their own projects.

Condições: Volunteers will live in Maribor city center, in shared apartment with one-bed rooms. The apartment is fully equipped and suports comfortable living (equipped kitchen, bathroom, internet connection, ...). On arrival we will open personal bank accounts for volunteers and they will get monthly allowance for food and household expenses. There are no meals provided at the working place, so volunteers get their own budget to cook at home.
We will provide bicycles and local bus ticket.
