Resumo: The host organbization is a network of Roma and non Roma volunteers and voluntary service organizations creating opportunities for non-formal education, dialogue and engagement, in order to challenge stereotypes and racism. “Phiren Amenca” is a Romani expression meaning “come and share a journey with us.” In our understanding this journey is personal, its space and length are different, but the final aim should be the respect that develops between Roma and non Roma

Perfil: Age: 17-30

Tarefas: Taking an active role in the local and international seminars, workshops and trainings organized by RGDTS on active citizenship, human rights and on challenging exclusion, discrimination and antigypsyism contributes to their common, European identity and helps them to become agents in society.

It also equips them with skills and knowledge in the project management cycle, which they later can utilize on the labour market. Getting involved in the work of RGDTS from September 2017 then from September 2018, in two rounds for two-two volunteers for 12 months will have the chance to build their personal and professional international networks and alliances of solidarity. Volunteers will be encouraged to develop their own project ideas and then implement them assisted by the diverse staff and local volunteers.

They will also receive support in learning the basics of Hungarian so that they can move around confidently in Hungary. The continuous social exclusion of and discrimination against Roma is present in each European country. We believe that only through dialogue, non-formal and informal learning can people build tolerance and challenge discrimination and its specific form, antigypsyism. Therefore, bringing Roma and non Roma youth together, working for common goals contributes to the development of an inclusive society."
