Resumo: The host organization offers homeless and disadvantaged people the opportunity to fulfil their potential and move towards an independent and positive future. The organization manages a range of accommodation for homeless young people in the UK, as well as providing resettlement, pre-employment training and other support services for homeless and socially disadvantaged people.
The Get Up & Go Programmes Team is made up of staff and volunteers based in three different regions (London, North West and North East of England). The team is responsible for providing young people who access the services with an exciting programme of activities called Get Up & Go to support their personal development.
Perfil: We are looking for candidates that demonstrate the following personal attributes, background and skills.

- An interest/passion in the homeless, voluntary and youth sector (Essential)
- Happy to live in a shared mixed house with other EVS volunteers (Essential)

- Experience leading an activity/project (Desirable)
- Age: 17-30
Tarefas: The purpose of this role is to assist the Get Up & Go programmes team and the charity as a whole with essential routine tasks required to support the smooth running of the Get Up & Go programme and other projects.
Get Up & Go tasks
• Actively promote and advertise Get Up & Go activities and events to staff, young people and volunteers face-to-face and through posters, flyers, phone calls and text messages.
• Communicate with key workers and other staff to introduce new young people to Get Up & Go, making them aware of the Get Up & Go behaviour agreement, confidentiality and other essential information.
• To work alongside the programmes team to deliver the Get Up and Go programme and support young people to attend activities and sessions. This may involve planning, supporting and leading activities to include: one-off events, cooking, out & about activities, physical activities, creative activities and others.
• Assist with mentoring and achieving goals set in support planning. This could include: filling out forms; accompanying a young person to a GP appointment or an activity; helping them cook a meal and supporting them to access other relevant activities and services.
• Open up and close the Network / Hub and ensure it is clean, tidy and fit for purpose
General tasks
• Adhere to the terms of our policies, procedures and its code of practice.
• Observe clear professional boundaries in our relations with the young people we work with.
• Respect the right to confidentiality of the young people we work with.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information both over the phone and face to face with vulnerable young people and adults.
• Take responsibility for your own health, safety and wellbeing as well as for the project in conjunction with project staff. Where appropriate, assist with health and safety checks, risk assessments, paperwork and complete follow up work to ensure the project/programme is running smoothly. This may involve building checks.
• Ensure that important information is communicated to your line manager and keep electronic and paper records up to date.
• Contribute positively to the continuous development of the project/team.
• Take the initiative to clean as and when required.
• Take part in team meetings as well as house meetings for young people.
• To celebrate the achievements and potential of young people and other volunteers.
• Promote and support the active involvement of young people in the development of the service.
• Assist project staff with house checks, preparing rooms for new residents and other tasks. This will involve cleaning and sometimes decorating.
• Attend core training.
• Attend regular supervision with your line manager; identify training needs and attend training if required; get authorisation for any holiday requests. In the event that you are unwell or unable to attend your shift call your line manager in good time.
• Work evenings and weekends as and when required.
Administrative tasks
• General office admin such as data entry, record-keeping, photocopying and answering the phone.
• Ensure that equipment and stock levels are sufficient and ready for use.
• Greet and sign in all young people/guests.
• Carry out internet searches and collate information.
• Assist the office manager with health and safety responsibilities
