Resumo: The host organization is located in a suburb. In this town the unemployment is high, many residents have no education, ill health is common among residents and crime is high. Many residents, especially young people, feel excluded. The feeling of exclusion makes it difficult to feel like a part of society. With this project we hope to be able to get rid of that feeling.

Objective of the project:
The goal is to develop interest in an active democratic participation among the young people. Both in our activities, but also on a local level. We want to increase young people's awareness that they are a part of society, and to create an understanding among them, that they are actually a part of the European community. The project is linked to the goal of democracy and participation in the Erasmus + program.

Perfil: We want to host two volunteers. They must be at least 18 years, but we prefer that they are over 20 years. Previous experience is not required, but we want the volunteers to have an interest in working with people, especially young people. A high social skills are also desirable.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The host organization is a youth center thats creating activities for youths. We are working to create meaningful leisure for young people. We want to create a safe meeting place where our visitors participate in a democratic manner. Our activities are based on young people's own requests and needs.

We have open for young people between 13-20 years, Monday to Saturday 17: 00-22: 00. In some occasions, such as when the youths have holidays from the school, we have activities during the daytime as well. Sometimes we go away on activities somewhere else. A few times during the year we organize activities for all residents in the area. We arrange various events addressed to all ages, but especially for adults in the area. This allows us to create more opportunities for local residents to meet.

Volunteers will, from their own interests, create activities for the youths visiting our business. It may be activities that occur at only one time, or activities that continues for a long period or in several occasions. They will have to plan activities that they think our visitors are interested in, and that can raise the question about democracy and participation.
