Resumo: The care home for old people is located in a city. The supporter of the institution is the registered charitable association . The care and support of residents in the old-age care home is organized by an all-inclusive (mind and body) programme. The newest knowledge is used in the areas of nursing care, medicine, and social aspects. Meeting the individual needs of the residents is a team effort. The residents, family members, doctors and the care specialists all work together. Basic care, treatment care, and social care are all focused on the resident.
The old-age care home has a long history of volunteer work, since 2007 it has hosted 7 EVS volunteers.
The use of European Volunteers is mainly for the social care and daytime support of the residents. Volunteers can co-design the daily programme. They are supported by the nursing support staff.
Perfil: Volunteers should be interested in social work in the area of old-age care. They should also be open to working with old people who need care. Some of the residents may also have old-age diseases of the mind (for example, Alzheimer’s).
Volunteers should be able to connect with other people.
Basic knowledge of the German language is helpful for the daily contact with: the residents, day-guests of the institution, family members and co-workers.
Learning the German language should not be the volunteers’ only or main motivation for volunteering with this project.
Age: 17-30
