Resumo: Our association has several centers focused on mentally disabled people field,so we'll recruit around 10 international youngsters to volunteer there.

Our association has participated before in the European Voluntary Service as a receiving organization. Currently we’re accredited as receiving and coordinating organization, and our goal is to find, coordinate and host a total of 16 volunteers from September to June (2017).
We’ve several centers with different activities, objectives and profiles of mentally disabled people, each one with its own volunteer project so the aspirants can apply for the project(s) they consider more interesting sending a CV and a motivation letter to our association. After the selection process, which includes a Skype interview, the chosen ones will be asked to sign a written agreement to formalize the voluntary project.

What we offer to volunteers:
European Voluntary Service provides to young volunteers a unique opportunity to live in a foreign country and collaborate with a fair cause, a personal and professional growth experience free of charge. In our case, the Association will provide them with quality training in mentally disabled people field, combining procedures we’ve been improving for 50 years with innovating methods. However, it’s much more than theory; we offer the chance to be part of our team.

Perfil: Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The volunteer will give support to our professionals in their daily tasks because we know that an active role it’s the best way to acquire knowledge and real professional experience. In other words, they won’t be just observers; they will help (not replace) the workers in their daily labors, ALWAYS under their guidance and responsibility. Furthermore, the volunteer will be allowed to integrate their own ideas and experience. We’re completely open to new projects aware that international volunteers’ inputs can be really valuable.

The Association together with the sending organizations and the National Agency, will provide the volunteer with all the necessary formation and resources to ensure a quality intercultural and non-formal learning experience, including:
An Info Kit containing information intended for the volunteer before traveling; EVS Training and Evaluation Cycle during the course; an online Spanish course provided by Online Linguistic Support before and during the time abroad; training in crisis prevention and management, health insurance and support with all the administrative procedures (visa, residence permits, travel arrangements…). Everything is FREE OF CHARGE for the volunteer.
The volunteer will have an assigned mentor who will guarantee a good integration to our association, our project and our community, who will help and guide them to guarantee their safety and happiness. At the end of the activity period the youngsters will receive a Youthpass, an official European certificate recognizing their professional skills and acquired competences.

Finally, and what’s most important, we offer the opportunity to be part of our family. The Association has a large experience dealing with practice students and volunteers because we want to help them and be helped, so the volunteer will feel like home with our workers. We aren’t a huge and impersonal company, we’re a community who wants to keep up the good work and we’re grateful with everyone who wants to join us.

What volunteers offer us:
The EVS isn’t just an opportunity for the volunteer; it is for our center and their users too. On the one hand, the presence of international young volunteers/students it’s always very welcomed by the disabled people of our centers. They love to see new faces and staying with young people who can break the routine, so this project fits our

association’s main goal: improve the quality of life for people with mental health problems. Be aware that people with disabilities need very personal attention, sometimes one worker for every two or three users, so the presence of new staff allows them to have a more personalized attention, which it really improves their welfare because they can join a bigger number of activities and workshops.
On the other hand, our workers appreciate the presence of motivated volunteers willing to learn and help them with their tasks. We’ve had very good experiences with international students and volunteers so they know what are they capable of and they’re opened to keep this kind of collaborations.
