Resumo: Our organization is a charity that works with 16-25 years olds who are homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged.

• We protect young people by finding them a place to call home.
• We prevent young people becoming homeless by rebuilding family relationships and offering through the gate support to young offenders.
• We provide young people with opportunities to progress beyond homelessness and fulfil their potential

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Your time is likely to be split between working with project staff and assisting the Programmes Team.

• Work towards the smooth running of the project and programme, implementing house rules and policies and procedures as required.

• Adhere to the terms of UK’s policies, procedures and its Code of Practice.

• Work with the programmes team to deliver the GUAG (Get Up and Go) programme; to support young people to attend activities and sessions. This may involve organising, planning and leading activities to include: one-off events, drop-ins, cooking, out & about activities, discussion groups, physical activities, creative activities and more.

• Greet and sign in all young people, keeping an accurate log of all young people attending.

• Induct new young people, making them aware of the ground rules.

• Help celebrate the achievements and potential of young people and other volunteers.

• Promote and support the facilitation of active involvement of young people in the development of the service.

• Actively promote and advertise activities and events to staff, young people and volunteers face-to-face and through posters, flyers, emails and through social media.

• In the event that activities/workshops are cancelled, continue with other jobs that need doing for example: planning, tidying, promoting future events, etc.

• Observe clear professional boundaries with the young people we work with.

• Assist with mentoring and achieving goals set in support planning. This could include: filling out forms, accompanying a young person to a GP appointment, helping them cook a meal, listening and signposting to other relevant activities and services.

• General office admin such as data entry, record-keeping, photocopying and answering the phone.

• Assist project staff with house checks and preparing rooms for new residents. This will involve cleaning and sometimes decorating.

• Open up and close the drop-in and ensure it is clean, tidy and fit for purpose.

• With staff, take the initiative to clean as and when required.

• Take part in team meetings as well as house meetings for young people.


• Attend monthly supervision with your line manager; identify training needs and attend training if required; get authorisation for any holiday requests. In the event that you are unwell or unable to attend your shift call your line manager in good time.

• Attend core training.

• Contribute positively to the continuous development of the project/team.

• Take responsibility for your own health and safety and for that of the project in conjunction with project staff. Where appropriate, assist with monthly Health and Safety checks and complete follow up work to ensure the project is up to standard – this may involve building checks.

• Work evenings and weekends as and when required
