Resumo: Project named Local enrichment through the European diversity aims to encourage social dialogue and intercultural learning to reduce the consequences of social exclusion among young people from different cultural backgrounds. In an environment with deep-rooted local identity, intercultural contacts are seen as a tool to establish a common identity and to blur the boundaries between local's distinction between "us" and "them".

The Portuguese volunteers from economic vulnerable group will be involved in organizational work and interactions with the local community. Through shifts of paradigm, changes of prejudices and having the positive intercultural experience will be reflected in a better acceptance of foreigners and appraisement of cultural diversity in a local environment.

Perfil: volunteers from economic vulnerable group
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: European volunteers will implement and participate in activities such as cultural evenings, language workshops, promotion and establishment of the title EVS Capital and hosting the projects under the Erasmus + programme.
Above all, the volunteers will be provided with conceptual and logistical support in the execution of their own workshops and activities on cultural diversity.

Through methods of non-formal learning, volunteers and other stakeholders will gain international learning experience, improve employment skills, change the stereotypes, break prejudices and actively working against discrimination. With regular organizational activities and through self-initiated projects, EVS volunteers will contribute to the internalization of Intercultural dialogue, promote the awareness of European citizenship and strive to a creation of a society based on European values and human rights.
