Resumo: The association was born in 1999 from a group of volunteers which began to go, in the evening, to the gardens of the railroad station, to get in contact with drug addicted people, people without a place to sleep, and people that live in need.

“To operate in the solidarity-field to safeguard the rights and the dignity of a person in social disease through valorization and promotion of voluntary work culture and without distinction between people of different cultures, nationalities and religion.
To offer assistance, company and to give help in need and, on the other hand, to respect personal liberty and the priorities of the citizens.
To stimulate the net-working through support and the activism of the interested sources on the local territory, promoting the education to solidarity and to active citizenship.
To offer service, 24 hours a day, to take care about ourselves, the others and the environment which surrounds us with the courage to break schemes, modify habits and upset, overturn routines”.

Perfil: Age: 17-30

Tarefas: In the first days we will ask to the volunteer to get in position of observer, performing only the simplest tasks. After understanding the tasks of the projects and have acquired some linguistic knowledge, the volunteer will be part of the team participating in most (not all) of the project activities. As he/she will acquire skills and knowledge, him/her autonomy will be increased and will be increased also the possibility of personal and professional growth. If the volunteer will have the interest and ability, he/she can also participate (still with the team) in some working meetings and in moments of planning. During the service they will not be left alone but always with the supervision of the social workers. It will be prepare for him and with him an individualized project, that should be bring to end during the EVS, with an agreement on shared expectations and goals.

All volunteers will have the opportunity to take part in the activities of all the projects of the association, but most of the time will be carried out within a single project (to be agreed according to the interests of the volunteer and the needs of the association , which can be found to deal with emergency situations), also to ensure a better coaching, mentoring and constant quality and a greater learning.
All volunteers will participate in public events, especially those that use art, graffiti and other alternative languages to awaken public opinion to social issues.

The activities will be carried out in different places in the city:
- In the social centers;
- On the road;
- At the headquarters of the association;
- In schools and youth centers, where they will participate in meeting to awaken public opinion about social issues and where the volunteer can tell his/her experience as an European Volunteer;
- In different areas of the city.

Even from the early days, volunteers will begin their service at the agreed activities. The week service is held over 5 days (in the case were more, in case of special events, the days will be retrieve the following week), for a maximum of 7 hours per day. The weekly worktime is 30-35 hours. Volunteers will have an important role, they will be working with people who come from different realities, they will put their experience for the others and will join the team of the projects in various activities, such as, for example:
- Welcome people in the structure (with explanation of the rules and how the center is structured).
- Get in communication with the people we met, to help in the interpersonal relationship and extend their quality of life;
- Organize recreational and leisure activities (entertainment activities, excursions, parties, sports competitions), with the support of local volunteers of the association;
- Prepare and distribute food and material for personal hygiene to the people we meet;
- Distribute meals and support the local volunteers in the "Pronto Fresco" project (go in some supermarkets that, 2-3 times a week, give food to the social organizations) in finding food and store it inside centers;
- Help in the preparation of meals and in the distribution of meals and clothing (blankets in winter) in the “mobile unit” for the homeless
- Assisting in the maintenance and management of the centers;
- Assisting the team in the accompaniments of the guests at the different services of the territory.
- Participate in meetings held in schools to raise awareness in social issues (meetings about volunteering, migration, discrimination, etc ...).
