Resumo: "Content of the history-project:
As mentioned above, the Volunteer shall organize a project of his own concerning contemporary history in Europe. After 3 month of getting assi-milated in our work and the places he will start to explore the history of the EU, its significance and future prospects. The intention is to provide a piece of work for representation in the youth clubs, that is dealing with conditions, background and development of the European Union. In order to teach young people the facts pro-perly an interesting
way of representing the history-project is required."

Perfil: "The volunteer should be interested in social work and experienced in dealing with children and the youth. Knowledge in theory of pedagogical studies would be useful. Basic Germ,an knowledge is needed. To be able to contact visitors of our places the volunteer should have an open personality.
Self-confidence and independency in working is required. The vo-lunteer is expected to come up with ideas of his own, to be flexible, creative and spontaneous.
Regarding the volunteers project he should, of course, be interested in the history of the EU and have a basic knowledge about the topic and its political implications. Interest in work with youths and some practical experience in that Basic German knowledge"

Tarefas: "Tasks The exact schedule has not been fixed yet. This will be organized in cooperation with the volunteer and tutor in the course of a fortnight. The volunteer will be busy within the usual working times, due to the opening of the youth clubs from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.,in the afternoons and evenings, 35 hours a
week. In case projects have to be prepared the student might work in the morning as well, in agreement by the tutor. There's a rough plan already been developed: - first 3 months: to get used to the 3 places, learn about the work there, vistors, offers, organisation of the pro-ject ""Europe from the past till today"". This history topic should include issues of the Europaen Community, as there are countries belonging to, new countries attending the EU, general development etc. (see last
entry)Exploring a method for evaluation. - 4th - 10th month: to carry out the history-project in the places of " "IB"",additionally there are events of the local districts. - last 2 months: finalizing the project and evaluation. Aims for learning: - getting to know the part of social work, that is called open youth work - to learn about the organisation of our association ""IB"" and other institutions, plans, projects within social work in Leipzig - working on concepts, defining aims of a program/project etc. - getting used to German culture, language, habits, customs, political structures"
