Resumo: "We cooperate with some schools in our region their program is aimed at a development of the community life. Those schools and centers have a wide after schools activities and good example work with children with special needs. Work with children on the position an assistant of leader in leisure activities - after school activities, language activities, sport activities, school trips.
To assist disabled students during school and after school time, especially during sport and art activities.
Cooperation on the occasional projects of our organization, especially during after school activities, training for youth leaders , summer camps etc.
Creating a project on his/her own, bringing new ideas.
Preferable with good English language knowledge. -
Decko Nachod is situated in a beautiful Art-deco style building surrounded with a large park. There is a playground, open air cirque, a fireplace with benches in the park.
Everything in the building and park is tailored to interests of children and young people. There are the special rooms for music, painting, pottery, dancing, work with computer, exercise, reading or relax, even for bouldering and archery.
We cooperate with all schools and non profit organizations in the town.
Nachod has 25,000 inhabitants. There are many cultural events (theatre, library, cinema, castel, museum etc.) and enough sports facilities (an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, an ice rink, a ski slope, football stadium, gym, skate-park, climbing hall etc).
Nachod is located in the valley of river; there is a large castle on the top of the main hill above the town. The surroundings of Nachod offer a beautiful landscape with rivers, hills, tourist routes, cycling and in-line tracks. The town is located on the border to Poland (2 km from the town centre). There is spa in the next Poland town.
There is a large area with sand rocks (good for climbing) close to Nachod, mountains for skiing, rivers for canoeing, see for yachting - everything half or one hour far.
The town is 3 hours far from Prague (Czech capital), 1 hour from Hradec Kralove - the centre of region, well accessible by train and/or by bus.

What we can offer to volunteers in terms of Service and learning opportunities:
Learning opportunities
Volunteers can learn main principles of non-formal and intercultural education. Volunteers can learn how to organise free time of youth and children, how to work with disabled and people from minorities. It can bring new social skills to volunteers. Volunteers can learn how to work in team, how to organise and prepare summer camps, spontaneous and occasional events for schools and public. Volunteers can take a part on building websites and intercultural programmes. They can learn how to take care of animals and prepare technical teaching aids. Volunteers will have opportunities to become independent, responsible, active and tolerant .Volunteers will have great opportunity to learn Czech language.

What will be the role of EVS volunteers in the Host Organisation:
Volunteer activity is no job position: The volunteers will help with activities run by Decko staff or by external instructors. However, they will take over no responsibility. The presence of a volunteer will give the activities a European dimension and enhance the clients' interest in European culture and in other young people's lifestyle.

The activities in which the volunteers could be involved and the activities the volunteers could create in your organisation. Please give examples of typical activities for the volunteers:
The volunteers can participate in the following activities:

Propagate the ideas of European awareness to youth of Nachod´s region and the Czech-Polish frontier area, with accent on Youth in Action and the Eurodesk database
Organising projects under the Youth in Action programme for secondary schools students in Nachod
Building websites about European programmes for youth - in English and German
Inter cultural programmes in the HEC Youth Club - ""Heart of Europe Club""
Help with preparing and organising leisure events, summer camps, etc.
Help with preparing and organising of spontaneous and occasional events(for schools, nursery schools, the public)Workshops for dance, ceramics, language, art and music, climbing, canoeing, jugglery, sport shooting and other non-formal activities
Care about animals (snakes, mini-monkeys, turtles and lizards) in our MiniZOO Social work with children and youth from minorities (Romanies, Vietnamese) - music, dancing, art-craft or language lessons Craft work in workshop - the assistance to caretaker by a repairing or creating of the teaching aids
Assisting to the disable children during non-formal education or sport lessons Networking in an International youth organization
The volunteers can bring their own ideas for activities and can use their own skills at work - lead some workshops themselves, having Decko staff only as a tutor.
We also provide language lessons to the volunteers, which has made us more aware of the role of the Czech language in our lives and of the difficulties foreign language learners have to face.
We have started an Information centre for youth which provides the public with information about youth projects, conditions of mobility in the EU, and mainly about the EVS programme.
Help during occasional activities for kindergartens and primary schools; organisational help at public events."

Condições: "The accommodation
The volunteer has his/her own room, it is fully furnished.
S/he has to share the bathroom with a washing machine and equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, kitchen-stove, dish, electric kettle) with two other volunteers. There is an internet connection in the flat.

Meals
The volunteer will get the money for food; he/she usually prepares breakfast and supper at home and takes lunch
(the main meal of the day) in a local restaurant or in the school canteen together with staff of host organization.

Local transport
The volunteer will get money for ticket to reach the place off on-arrival training and mid-term meetings for volunteers. There is no need of any money for transport to work, every distance in Nachod it is possible reach by a walk. Decko or hosting organisation will pay the travel costs in case of a business trip or in case that volunteer will have to travel to work.

Training and support
The coordinator represents the main reference figure for the volunteer. Especially during the first weeks the coordinator stays in direct contact with the volunteer in order to facilitate the volunteer's integration in the organisation and all the matters like stay of permit, sanitary assistance and so on. Regular meetings with director should clear step by step all potential misunderstanding and differences in expectations.

The mentors
He/she will be fully at the volunteer's disposal; speaks English or German and has own experience with staying in foreign country. The Mentor represents the main contact figure to make easier communication between volunteer and other employees of Decko. It is necessary that the volunteer, for the first period of the service, will observe the daily life activities in the organisations in order to be gradually involved in the activities. Weekly meetings between the mentor and the volunteer are foreseen. In these meetings volunteer will have the chance to evaluate her progresses, propose herself and her ideas and to arrange own ideas or new activities.

During the whole stay:
Czech language course by some professionals will take place in Decko, with an experienced teacher.
Regularly meetings with the other volunteer(s), working on specific topics, getting to know Czech culture, way of life and cities/attractive places
Weekends trainings for youth leaders - organized by SVÈ Déèko Náchod or partner NGO organizations in Czech or even in other countries in EU
