Resumo: "Usti nad Labem is the biggest city in the Usti region with about 95,000 inhabitants. It is situated on the river Elbe in the beautiful valley of the Czech Highland. The city is surrounded by hills, which offer interesting opportunities for smaller trips or hiking. Like other similar sized cities, Usti nad Labem offers many ways to spend your free-time: music clubs, cinemas, theatres, bowling and minigolf clubs, swimming pool, ice skating stadium, cycle routes, etc. You can meet a lot of young people from the University of J.E. Purkynì, including some foreign students. The city location in northwest Bohemia close to German borders is favourable for trips by train to beautiful and remarkable cities Prague (103 km), Dresden (86 km) or Berlin (291 km).

EVS volunteers will live in the former Dominican monastery, where are rooms for students and other people for rent. If wanted, they can get room with Internet connection and older computer. They can use washing machine, fridge and shared kitchen too. Our organization head office is in the Dominican monastery as well and the monastery itself is located just in the centre of Usti nad Labem. So volunteers have an easy access to different shops, restaurants and other services in the city. "
