Resumo: "Hellenic Association of Informatics (H.A.I.) have base in the centre of the city of Athens that is situated in Southern Greece, with a population of approximately 5.000.000 people. Athens is the capital of Greece and belonge to Athens Prefecture. The municipality of Athens is the main Greek economical dealing and commercial transaction centre linked with two important industrial areas in its Northern and South-western boundaries. There are archaeological sites, museums, theatres, cultural centres, public services and all the educational levels. In the nearby mountain forests, winter sports centres are settled. The city consists of a unique urban centre including the municipality of Piraeus in which there is the main port of Greece. The activities of the volunteers are taking place in the area of Athens and their support cover all the Athens prefecture. H.A.I. experience with EVS, is in a very good level. From 1998 work as send organization (in social, enviromental and culture programs),a also from 2006 host volunteers from E.U. and Mediteranenan countries, and in weekly base informs more than 10 young persons for EVS program (the briefing concerns so much the EVS also the Youth in Action in general). H.A.I members take part the last years very often in youth exchanges and other actions and are ready to offer time and help in this host program the young EVS volunteers.

Our motivation for this EVS proposal is the young persons be motivate to use new digital technological tools with productive and creative way. All this in combination of learing in the exploitation of pictures (photos and particularly video) with the proportional s/w tools in which they will be educated and are practised. Concretely we focus in the learning (with seminars from our NGO) of s/w applications: Photoshop picture editing, Premier video editing and Sound assistant editing but also techniques of reception of photographs, recording and treatment video, direction and sound recording. Afterwards all this will be used for the digital material production relative with the actions of young persons and particularly activities in Youth in action not only in our NGO but in the whole country and actions of other NGO's (volunteerism, expeditions, local actions, programs in Youth in action)."

Perfil: "Volunteers they should have an interest about youth work, spread information, support ideas and actions and the must important to learn and work with video and digital s/w related with capture and video production. Also it's important to be flexible and open, communicate / friendly / active character. Tolerance and open mind is very important for this project. The age should be between 18 and 25 (basically). They should be able to deal with computer programs such as windows, word and excel (in basic level) and also be able to use internet search tools and e-mail, also our NGO provide lessons to this topic (and video editing)."

Tarefas: "Our main motivation in proposing the specific EVS placement is to valorise important elements of the cultural heritage of the hosting country and also experience in the youth information's field (from our part). These elements represent a real 'capital' for the volunteer.
H.A.I. also offers, in the volunteer that will participate in the program, support and education in the following mainly subjects:
Practical experience and education on issues about work with youths, youth policies, information's, spread good practices, international activities, youth exchanges and support etc. We provide also skills about international programs (seminars, youth exchanges) with Youth in Action program.
Linguistic lessons in the Greek Language and also practical intercultural experience.
Practical experience and education in the subjects of Greek rich history, culture, environment and traditions in the entire region of Athens and around.
The volunteers will have the possibility of acquisition of complete picture for the Modern Greek society and for the young persons, have continuous contact with young members of H.A.I. that acting with them.

The young persons today grow having particular with all the digital technologies, particularly in the sector of digital photograph and video. The extensive use of mobile telephones and other appliances make particularly easy the digital production and beloved for all the young persons. At the same time the young persons move itself in multiple levels in their everyday life, claim, they fight, they are adapted in the puberty, in the everyday routine of society that them surrounds. They imagine, they create, they dispute, they dream, they fall in love. Digital world give this possibility. Become tool of imagination and creativity of young persons and with ally the technology of picture can intervene, create, change. At the same time the young persons seek their roots, their cultural identity and at the same time explore other cultures and ideas. The living together, the search and the acceptance of different, the exchange, the experimentation are subjects that in the juvenile brain become acceptable and constitute daily experiences.
At the same time our NGO (and other NGO's in Greece) deal with action of volunteerism and activation of young persons, organise programs, plan volunteer EVS projects, draw youth meetings and events and they produce work in which they participate actively young persons, Greeks and foreigners. Objective of our EVS project are the volunteers they function as ""digital"" authors and ""journalists"". Visit, record, process with the suitable software and at the end they produce video (and photographs) that cover the actions that they will record. Actions from our NGO but also from others NGO's in Greece, from the programs that organize. Also cover the life of the EVS volunteers in Greece (in the frames of their programs but also in frames of social life and their individual actions), they will advance in interviews with young persons (with EVS volunteers but also young Greeks) and generally they will undertake the role of young reporters (that produce video material for the activation of young people and for the Youth in Action program). All this (mainly video but also photographs and accompanying texts) upload to free use in the Youtube and Facebook.
Objective of our EVS project are the young volunteers, they learn more about the digital productions but also to create in a digital world without limit. They visit places, photograph persons and areas, educated, become photographers, video technicians, authors, artists, reporters in digital world for the other young people that act and participate, be multipliers for the results of the Youth in Action.

The last year our NGO try (in combination with various actions - seminars, youth exchanges, voluntary work projects) to produce video material which uses for the distribution and the promotion of Youth in Action program between the young people and used for the activation and attendance of youngsters. As result of our productions until today, we realised that this electronic form of projection and communication is very successful and has particularly positive acceptance from the young people and functions as multiplicative in their process of activation for attendance. After all this, we want to produce in more permanent base video that create with liveliness and inventiveness young volunteers, recording experiences and actions that also other institutions and volunteers realise in the frames of Youth in Action in Greece. Final goal is the general projection and the distribution of Youth in Action programs.
Within this EVS project we intend to recruit volunteers from E.U. and also EuroMed countries.
The main objective of this project is to spread information (as young reporters with video material - interviews, covering stories and volunteer life) about possibilities that NGO's and the EU youth programs gives to young people, make them aware of being part and motivates them to organise things by their own and promote the idea of voluntary work.
Other aspect will be to promote the active citizenship and to give to the youngsters (age 15 - 25 mainly) in our area 'the power', tools and information (with all the material that produce and distribute), to do more with Youth in Action programme.
In addition, volunteer is responsible to helping us to organizing educational-cultural activities held in our region (under the Youth in Action or generally).
The volunteer might have the possibility to develop -as a personal project- a proposal for a Youth activity that could be promote by the host or send NGO. If this is the case he/she will be able to dedicate 10% of the EVS period to this task and the participation to on-going activities.
The volunteer will be support in all the tasks above, especially the most demanding ones and those requiring the use of the local language, by the coordinator and other Greek young volunteers that are active in our host organization."
