Resumo: "Modavi is located in Naples, in a quiet area easy to reach by car and especially by public transportation. Naples is in the south of Italy and is the capital of the region of Campania and of the province of Naples. The city is known for its rich history, art, culture and gastronomy, playing an important role throughout much of its existence; it is over 2,800 years old. Naples is located halfway between two volcanic areas, the volcano Mount Vesuvius and the Phlegraean Fields, sitting on the
coast by the Gulf of Naples.
The city has seen a multitude of civilizations come and go, each leaving their mark and now the historic city centre is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The city proper has a population of around 1 million people, while the population of urban area is estimated by Eurostat to be 2.25 million.
The city is also synonymous with pizza, which originated in the city. A strong part of Neapolitan culture which has had wide reaching effects is music, including the invention of the romantic guitar and the mandolin as well as strong contributions to opera and folk standards. There are popular characters and figures who have come to symbolise Naples; these include the patron saint of the city Januarius, Pulcinella, and the Sirens from the epic Greek poem the Odyssey.
In Naples there are many public and private institutions of higher education in Naples, as well as numerous institutes and research centres. Naples hosts what is thought to be the oldest state university in the world in the form of the University of Naples Federico II, which was founded by Frederick II during 1224. It is by far the most important university in southern Italy, with around 100,000 students and over 3000 professors.
The volunteers will work in Modavi in Naples and in other town where Modavi has its outlying centres. The volunteer will have the opportunity to come in direct contact with the local community through the support of the organization, but above all thanks to youths he will meet during activities in which he will be involved, setting with them friendship relationship and spending with them relax moments and good times.
EVS is mainly a growth opportunity for the volunteer. The volunteers will have the chance to develop their potentials and learn techniques and ways which will become part of their personal and professional background. Informal training will improve volunteer's knowledge and skills , highlighting
their talents and vocations.
"

Perfil: The welcoming of the volunteers will be performed following risk prevention and management strategies, other measures will be settled depending on the situation and on the specific activities the volunteers will take care of:
- The volunteers will get a specific training on risk prevention and safety relating to the task they will be involved in.
- The volunteers will receive an information paper with the emergency contacts (hospital, police) and the contact numbers of the project responsible.
- The volunteers will receive a city and an area map, the association contacts and the numbers to call by necessity.
- Protection and safety will have a main role during the preparation of the project, there will be a realistic and in-depth risk evaluation during the whole time of the project.
- The volunteers will fill in a personal form with all of their possible health needs (allergies, diseases, phobias, etc). Concerning the prevention of intercultural shock crisis and the adaptation to the project, we will try as much as possible to involve the volunteer and the sending association into the elaboration of the project in order to define the activities and the common aims before his/her arrival; a better comprehension of the project will probably further an easier and faster adaptation. Besides, all logistic information will be given in advance.

Tarefas: "The role of the volunteers will develop together with their knowledge of the organization, of the way of working and of the staff. They will have an important position, even though they will never take the place of the members of the staff for the ordinary work and they will always have the backing of the tutor and of the rest of the organization. The aim is to make the volunteers self-sufficient in regard to the activities they should carry out and to awaken their enthusiasm . The volunteers presence will assure a groundbreaking element in the staff, so they should became an active part of the team. We will define with the volunteers the field they mainly prefer to work in, also in relation to their own education and interests.

The association's different activities that will involve the volunteers may be divided in 3 main areas: information, activities with children and organization of and realisation of the seminars/workshops about social, european and youth policies. Volunteers will take part in this activity and be a further support to the staff involved.
Information: The volunteers will gradually involve, collaborate and they will also help the operators and the persons responsible in all the typical and daily activities of our informations offices located in Naples and other cities of the province: the will support our operator to give information about
european youth policies (particular Youth in Action program), social policies and job opportunity.
They will partecipate in all activities of front-office (particularly important to the Volunteer to improve the knowledge of the Italian language); The Activities of Back office include (filing documents, updating of internet sites of the Association), production and sending mail and newsletter: for this activity, we also guarantee a formation on the various languages and on softwares in use for the creation of web pages;

Activities with children: The volunteer will be involved in afternoon activities with children which are: support children to learn tolerance, fraternity, liberty across non formal education. Volunteers will be involved in the preparation of the materials for the participant; Seminars/workshop: Volunteers will be involved in the preparation of the materials for the
participants, in the organisation and realisation of the seminars/workshops and, where possible, they, if willing, will be request to talk about their own experience as European volunteer.
Volunteers will be also able to propose their own ideas/initiatives which will be evaluatued and than supported by the staff of the Community."

Horário: "Volunteers will be working 5 days/week, from Monday to Friday for 6/7 hours a day to a maximum of 35 h/week (but usually 30h). Sometimes volunteers will be asked to take part in activities in the evening or in the weekend in order to cope with special events (hosting of a delegation, cultural events etc.), in this case, in accordance with his/her tutor, the volunteer will recuperate later his/her days off. Other days off for holidays or other special needs, will be fixed in accordance with his/her tutor"

Condições: "Modavi Napoli will offer all the information, the education, the support and the means which are necessary for the volunteers to integrate him/herself easily into his new environment in our activities and in the city and the province of Naples . A Tutor will be designated with the scope to help the new volunteers to get integrated into the new reality as well as to support and advise him/her in the case of problems.
Learning by doing: They will be able to get a real ""learning by doing "" training about management of groups of foreign young people, organization of cultural events (courses, seminars, conferences, workshops etc.).
Italian language course: learning Italian language will make easier her/his stay and her/his integration in the local community. The course will take place in our offices and it will be concentrated in the field of non-formal education. In this context , the volunteer can easily socialize with the young
users. Take part in training activities, as a language course, with other youngsters with different national backgrounds, will also help the volunteers to build up a network of social relations and acquaintances.
Excursions and cultural tours: The volunteer will have the opportunity to visit interesting historicalartistic and cultural places, together with the groups of italians volunteer which are involved in our different projects. This type of aggregation will allow the volunteers to integrate further in the local
community and create and intensify relationships of friendship and acquaintance.
Intercultural dimension: Volunteers can be involved in a real multicultural experience living broad, developing an aptitude of solidarity and tolerance towards others, thus contributing to reinforce social cohesion in the EU, and will have the opportunity to increase their own practical skills, for example IT and language knowledge (Italian and other languages, considering the international environment in which Eurocultura works) and, therefore, improve their personal, educational and professional development.
Every volunteer will also have, in the case of necessity, the opportunity to speak with the responsible persons of the living units or with the coordinator of the service, who will also explain him/her the jobs he/she has to do and supervises him/her.
On the arrival of foreign volunteers the organization will arrange meetings and/or seminars in order to make them aware of the environment where they will stay during their service."
