Resumo: The association is located in a autonomous community. The economy of the town is based around the services industries sector, followed by industry, construction and agriculture.

The headquarters are found in the historic, old-town area. This is the area with the highest concentration of immigrants and ethnic gypsies and the majority of the inhabitants are people with very little disposable income. In recent years, thanks to the promotion of rent-controlled housing and the revitalisation of local businesses, the area has become a favourite for the emancipation of the younger age-groups.

The principle task of the volunteers is to help the teachers and employees and they will be in constant contact with the tutor, as specified in the programme, the mentor, who provides monitoring and orientation, and the administrator, who takes care of the more practical issues such as accommodation, meals, safety, etc. Accommodation will be organised in apartments shared with either other European volunteers or young people from the town itself. All volunteers will live in the city and affairs such as shopping, cooking and cleaning should be organised among themselves. Food allowances and pocket money will be paid monthly.

The volunteers may work in two different type of centre, one of the two Open Centres, located in the centre of the town, or one of the three Centres, one of which is in the city, the other two in neighbouring towns approximately 20km away. In the case where a volunteer is engaged in one of the centres that is not in the city, he or she will be provided with transport, either in the form of public transport tickets, or travelling by car with one of the employees of the centre.

It is worth mentioning that the services provided by the volunteers are not substitutes for either current or potential jobs, as the maximum number of employees determined by the administrations have already been assigned in all the centres where volunteers are engaged.

Perfil: No special limitations will be applied to volunteer selection, though particular attention will be paid to basic knowledge of the language, self reliance, personal dynamism and experience of work with children, though lack of experience with children will not be an excluding factor.

Tarefas: • Attend and participate in meetings to plan activities, new ideas and activities.
• Actively collaborate in the preparation of the CO activities.
• Participate in various activities like a trips, games and crafts, review basic centre or sports or computer activities.
• Promoting international activities, including workshops on country of origin, cultural aspects...
• Assistance to the reviews that are performed daily after the activity and raise new ideas and difficulties encountered in service.
• Voluntary participation in special activities of the organization (solidary campaign, weekend trips,etc).
