Resumo: The framework for the EVS activities are the various programmes developed by the Youth Council.
EVS volunteers will also participate in other programmes for youth in risk of social exclusion, such as the Book Drugstore, the Box of Time, in City Council premises, and with the collaboration of other organisations.
The geographical scope of the Youth Space is the region, with a total population of 250,000 inhabitants. The city is located in Southeast of Spain. It has a sea-port.

The main sectors of the economy are: services, industry, tourism, agriculture. With an average standard of living and income, immigration is rising, so we have programmes to integrate all kinds of young people, regardless of socioeconomic level, origin, culture, etc.
The city has its own University, which offers 12 different degrees, also has the University with 14 degrees, Official School of Languages, 14 secondary schools, 7 municipal libraries, 8 sport centres, music school, municipal theatre school, Industrial Park, two shopping centres, etc.
The city has railway and bus stations, as well as city buses.

As arts and culture activities, we can highlight the World Music Festival, the Festival of young talents , Festival of new Dance.
The Festival takes place in the last half of September and consists in a recreation of the history during its foundation, around 227 B.C.

Perfil: Volunteers:
-Aware of youth programmes and social discrimination of groups in risk of exclusion; willing to participate in activities promoting European awareness with other young people and otherwise sensitive to the environment, the protection of native plants.
We will contact candidates through e-mail and they will send us a motivation letter (explaining why the want to participate, their expectations and the contributions they can make).
The pre-selected candidates will fill in a questionnaire about themselves and the project.
The opinion of the sending organisations regarding volunteers will also be taken into account.
The selected volunteers will be informed in detail about the project.
Selection will be open and transparent.
Sending Organisations:
Dedicated to work with any youth field (youth participation, organisations, leisure, training, disabilities, employment, health, gender, etc.).
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The host organization will enable volunteers to develop personal, professional and social skills. The proposed learning objectives refer to the eight key competences established by the Youthpass:
-interpersonal, intercultural, social and civic competences, such as adaptability and ability to cope with new challenges, teamwork, share responsibility in coping with a multicultural / multinational team, etc.
-cultural expression, to develop cultural awareness in a multicultural environment.
-communication in mother tongue and foreign languages: learning to communicate orally written in Castilian and improve communication and learn to teach their native languages.
-IT skills, learning to handle and process information in new information technologies and communication with the aim of disseminating youth information and decentralize information of concern for young people.
-Initiative skills. Learning to learn.
-Other learning opportunities: European awareness and solidarity; youth local programmes: employment, health and gender, housing, social, citizenship, tourism, European programmes, etc.

Volunteers will support the work of the staff of various departments Youth Space, Informajoven and cultural animators and educators of the Book Drugstore and Box of Time. They will also participate in other programmes handling with the EVS.

Volunteers will participate in the following activities:
-promotion and dissemination of youth programmes in the informative talks, putting up posters, decentralization of information to neighborhoods, home of youth centers
education, etc.
-support in the organization, administration and management of programmes, support with the organisation of workshops, leisure activities, updating the user database, helping young people completing application forms, helping to organize activities related to programmes dealing with the EVS, etc.
-start socio-cultural activities with children and young people in the programmes carried out.


On the other hand they will participate in environmental activities part of the project carried out by the Polytechnic University, aimed at the conservation of native plants of the area.
The tasks that volunteers will carry out can be structured in the fields of research and environmental restoration;
_produccion of plants in both nurseries and laboratories,
_plantacion of Astragalus and monitoring of the planted,
_involvement with the nearest town in custody network plant,
_participacion in campaign of dissemination and raising awareness of the protection of native plants in schools of the municipality

On the other hand, volunteers will contribute with their knowledge, culture, language, interests, concerns and motivations in the workshops in secondary schools, associations, youth houses, etc. in subjects regarding European Citizenship, cultural identity, etc. Education in values will be used as crosscutting issue. Approach: non-formal education.
