Resumo: The host organization is located in the city centre where it assists socially disadvantaged young people & early school leavers through a range of interventions from full-time training programmes to short-term outreach activities covering health,counselling,independent living & preparation for work.
It works out of city centre premises but does much outreach work in schools. It has a community based project (Wot!) – where EVS volunteers haved helped on occasion.
It also runs a Youth Café/Venue & a Youth Open Space on a mixed youthwork model.

Perfil: Age: 17-30

Tarefas:
Volunteers typically take an active role in the Signposts project of the Youth Information Centre,delivering this in school & other outreach settings. Signposts is a 7 week educational peer training in services & agencies dealing with youngpeopl’e issues,
The volunteer is also a member of the Health team & would have responsibility for developing materials, preparing activities and in co-facilitating. Volunteers have, in the past, made a great contribution to this programme in terms of improving the relevancy of content & the creative materials developed and used.
In addition the cultural experiences of volunteers are actively engaged in our Global Awareness training and in our club for young immigrants.. The latter programme may or may not run from September 2012 as demand seems to have tailed off.

Some volunteers have brought back ideas from Signposts & Health Education to their home organisations.
Additionally our EVS volunteers have the option of taking up a Leaders in Training course which the organization runs at least once per year.
