Resumo: This is the project with main themes of disability and minorities. In this project the Foundation hosts 2 EVS volunteer for 12 month service as a support persons for young people with learning disability in the rural area of Estonia.
The main origin of this project is to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union. As foundation is a live-in community for people with intellectual disability, we offer volunteers an unique possibility to explore the life of disabled people.

Perfil: There has not been any particular criterias about participants involved or neither to be selected. Our experience shows, that it does not matter, has volunteer had any previous contact with the area of special needs. It is also philosophy of European Commission that previous experience on the field of project activities must not play any roll of the selection process and we agree with that.
The foundation is a live-in community. We prefer volunteers, who are interested in our way of life and find us themselves, writing personal motivation letter. This shows us that they have thought already about the way of life here.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The main origin of this project is to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union. As foundation is a live-in community for people with intellectual disability, we offer volunteers an unique possibility to explore the life of disabled people.

Our project also promotes young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular. For example, this project was written by 7 different persons: 3 EVS volunteers.The project is ongoing process and our volunteers are included actively not only to participation of village everyday life, but also included to different initiatives that include project writing, working with other NGOs, being active citizen of Europe.

During our project, volunteers will contribute to develop the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field. In our budget, every volunteer will receive funds to develop their own initiative project in the field on creating support systems for activities for young people with intellectual disability. Volunteers are also encouraged to be part of civil society organisations.

In the field of promoting European cooperation in the youth field, the Foundation is a member of the differents networks started by the Youth Clubs. Our goal is to promote European co-operation, especially in the field of the youth with special needs. Volunteer of the project is included as contributer of ideas and helping out with activities.
