Resumo: We are living in a flat region and the main way of movement is to go by bike. The volunteers will be trained to bike.
To give a little sociological background: In the two districts there are three areas with a special urgency for renovation. Children and youth grow up here under aggravated conditions. These include cramped apartments, a lack of support for school problems in the family, the absence of recreational facilities etc. Those teenagers are often neither able to organize their leisure time in a satisfying way nor to solve problems independently or resolve conflicts constructively. Faced with a whole bundle of problems they often lack self-confidence, social competence and the motivation to determine their everyday life independently. Their life and their experiences are mostly restricted to their immediate living quarters. They are excluded from many areas of social life.

The organization cooperates with partners from Poland, Latvia, Spain, Great Britain, Netherlands, Italy, France and South Africa. Especially bi-, tri- and multilateral exchanges are in focus of our international partnerships. Since two years we are able to organize these projects in our own guesthouse (International Youth Projecthouse) with the capacity for 60 persons. The second building includes the administration of our association and the accommodation for at least six volun-teers.

Some independent theatre projects from different districts and the regional administration have formed a network, which gives children and youth a chance to arrive at the region and in Europe. The organization expanded its activities in this field in cooperation with schools and the soccer club. Thus, the association functions as an umbrella organization and a special interest group for eight different projects in youth culture in and around the area.
By supporting drama pedagogic activities in Oldenburg and its vicinity the organization has succeeded in creating a network which allows for young people's participation in regional, national and international educational work.
The organization is an approved agency of cultural work, a programme to further young people in the city.

Perfil: The volunteers should show interest in and an affinity towards the following topics: sports, artistic gymnastics, theatre, youth-centred cultural work, graphic arts, media work and management. Most important, however, is delight in working with children and young people.
Therefore we primarily address sending organizations from the fields of artistry, youth-centred cultural work, theatre and sports.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: We will offer the young people an introductory course in German and a training course in social competencies and then, by making use of our network, we will try and place them into different projects in the fields of education, sports, or leisure time in our urban district.
The focal points of the volunteers' activities is to work with children and youth in cultural work with a school or inde-pendently, in the fields of theatre, music and possible sports
Aside from working in the fields of sports, music, and theatre, the volunteers will mainly work in developing new projects and assist in housekeeping for the International Youth Projecthouse
First and foremost the volunteers will take part in preparing and executing international programs of the organization
We will organize excursions into the surroundings, which will give the volunteers the opportunity to learn something about the history, the economy, and the nature of our region.
