Resumo: The host organization is located in a small town of 10000 inhabitants. It is the main town of a rural territory with a strong cultural identity, offering landscapes such as low hills and marshes, ideal for outdoor activities. It is located, about 60 km away from three bigger towns, on the confluent of two rivers. There is a TGV train station, a harbour and an old town build around a medieval abbey. The population is mainly made of peasants and factory workers. The town has a strong cultural dynamism, specially around the culture.

Perfil: We accept any gender and nationality. However, we prefer volunteers over 20 years old, who are autonomous and mature enough to face and take a distance towards a public with a physical handicap. Basis in french will be appreciated.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The establishment can offer to the volunteer regular contacts with various professions : teachers, educators, re-educators, psychologists, … He will be facing different situations together with a professionnal, allowing him various experiences and analysis. He will be in a daily contact with a special public of children and teenagers facing a physcial handicap, whom the establishement gives specialised answers :
- technical help
- cognitive re-mediation
- individualised formation plan for every child
- taking in charge the problems on a multi-disciplinary way

The volunteer will take part in the pedagogical service. His role will take place into the groups of youngsters, according to his skills and tastes. He can participate to workshops like informatics, theatre, music, arts, … but also to the individual help for homework, help to write, accompany some pupils being integrated in some “open classes” in the schools and highschools of the town.
The missions of the volunteer will always be under the responsibility of a teacher or an educator.
The volunteer can also valorise his own country and culture, through the organisation of meals, exhibitions, slide-shows for instance. He can also create a workshop with the children around some personnal skills he wants to share with them (initiation to foreign languages, puppets creation, european games, …). According to his own skills and interests, he can also propose other accompaniment on leisure or meal times.
More over, the volunteer will participate to the organisation of a colelctive project about Europe, together with the other EVS volunteers hosted, with a partnership between all the host organisations of the town.
If the organization is hosting two volunteers during the same school year, the place of each of them will be clearly defined in advance : one of the volunteers will follow the missions described above in connectino with the pedagogic sector ; while the other one will be acting with the educative sector, with the mission with the mission of making possible some individual activities of the disabled youngsters in the “open places.

The missions of this second volunteer would be to support the pupils of the school in their individual activities” (school, professional training, culture, social life), for example : going with a youngster to a professional training, to a horse riding class or to the cinema, activities during the lunch break, the wednesday afternoon (as there are no classes this day), with the boarding school, outgoings, and during the school holidays, when the youngsters are still attending the establishment. All these actions will be under the responsibility of the professionals of the establishment. The presence of this second volunteer will be the opportunity to make possible the propositions of activities of the youngsters of the establishment.
Finally, if he is willing to, each volunteer will have the opportunity to develop a personal project connected with the activities and objectives of the school. ,
The organization of the missions of the volunteer will be on a basis of 35 hours a week, including 3 hours of French classes. The holidays will be school holidays (Autumn, Christmas, February and Easter).
