Resumo: The place of realisation of the project is Community Kindergarten. It is located in a town in Poland, and is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. The city, which lies on the banks of the Vistula River, was for centuries the capital of Poland and the home of our kings. The city is also known the long artistic and literary tradition, and is home to cultural events, exhibitions, concerts, beautiful, wide-open green spaces and monuments of our national heritage etc. The city is noted for its fresh, vibrant quality, and is always full of students and young people attending the many universities and Academies here.
The kindergartenitself work actively within our local community, volunteers will have the opportunity to see how the kindergarten operates in collaboration with institutions such as local libraries, Youth Centres, other kindergartens, the fire brigade, the District Council, the House For Homeless Animals, and many other social care organisations, such as the ecological.
Perfil: We are looking for people open to new challenges, who like children and who are sensitive to the needs of other people and caring for the environment. Volunteers have to be open-minded, highly motivated and with a sense of humour, because children love these kinds of people. He/she should like walks, trips, sightseeing, and wants to spend an unforgettable time learning about our culture and our language.
Most importantly, they would be responsible and conscious that in working with children they can have an influence on their mental development, and that although the work can be difficult, it brings a lot of joy and satisfaction.
Age. 17-30
Tarefas: Tasks that we propose for volunteers are:
-Accompanying children in their games, activities.
-Helping teachers preparing and conducting classes, educational activities etc.
-Helping teachers during walks, trips etc.
-Helping children with â~messyâ activities, for example painting, drawing, cutting and sticking etc,
-Helping organising events.
-Helping organising charity events for the local environment (childrenâs homes, hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes, shelters for animals etc).
-Helping organising ecological events such as National No Smoking Day, Tree Day, Earth Day, National Day without Cars, our local festival of Recycling, the Cleaning the World event and many others.
- Support in the collection of recyclable materials.
-Teaching related to the promotion of the country of origin of the volunteer (teaching games, songs, poems, rhymes and words in their native language. Bringing their culture and customs into the classrooms).
-Contributing to an informational newsletter related to ongoing activities.
-Proposing or selecting and managing the volunteersâ share of the work.
The volunteer will acquire communicative competence. He/she will learn to communicate with people from different backgrounds, who are in different emotional conditions, and learn to resolve conflicts and construct a positive atmosphere in the group. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about our community and our language, and engage in environmental activities. They will get to know Polish culture and customs. As stated before, there is always something going on at our kindergarten, and we always need fresh ideas! Above all, volunteers at our school will experience a fascinating adventure.
Horário: In general, volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about our community and language, and engage in environmental activities. He/she will get to know Polish culture, cuisine and customs. More specifically, at our preschool there is always something going on - we take part in child-level competitions, recitals, art displays, and singing contests. In preparing our children for all these activities, we are always in need of creative ideas. Volunteers will get to know our city, parks, museums, theaters, and opera with us!
Our kindergarten is open from Monday to Friday, 6.00 to 17.00. Volunteers will work from 9.00 till 15.00 for a total of 30 hours a week.
A day in our preschool might look like the following:
6.00 - 8.30
Arrival of children, morning activities, educational games in small groups, free playtime.
8.30 - 9.00
Preparation for breakfast.
9.00 - 11. 30
Breakfast, followed by:
Care and educational classes - didactical and according to set plans. These include educational activities, musical activities, art, fun outside in our garden, walks, gymnastics etc.
Occasional school trips to places such as museums, theatres, the opera and the Niepolomice national park.
11.30 - 12.00
Prepare for Lunch
12.00 - 14.00
Lunch
After lunchtime there is a space for relaxing, fun and games, and listening to stories. Pupils can now also take part in extra- curricular activities, engage their wider interests etc

By now the groups get a bit smaller, and the children enjoy creative fun, educational games, and playing anywhere in the garden or hall. Fixed weekly extra activities include:

Friday: Bring Your Own Toy Day
