Resumo: The Center it is focused in training activities in the social field and leasure time. It taught official degree
courses, monographic courses, etc. Destinated to young people, also another animation sociocultural
activities’ and leasure time activities’ in the hole autonomous community.
Since 2000 it has an information and advice office for volunteer which claims to be the world
benchmark of volunteering, a consulting characterized by its openness to any entity that is related to
volunteerism, a flexible, fast, useful, and above all effective, value of free . Also from 2000 the Escola is
Host entity, sending and coordinating EVS.

Perfil: We are looking for young volunteers with interest and motivation in cultural activities and leasure time
with children and teenagers.
We are looking for youngsters with capabilities of comunication, social skills, enthusiasts, creatives,
with initiative and values and ideals about solidarity and europena identity.
We value highly the desire and the motivation to participate in this experience.
Finally we pay special attention in the work of the sending organisation, because we think that this is
an essential part, and that all the partners must be involved in the project.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The main objetive to host a european volunteer is to promote the knowledge of Europe and of the
programmes offered for youth, between youngsters from Santiago, in particular, and from Galicia in
general.

Moreover we realize that is interesting to promote between european youngsters the knowledge and
relationship with another diferent cultures that living in the same frame of convivence, Europa.
Finally we think that is very enriching to know diferent ways of working in the leasure time in the differents
countries in Europe.
Since our center is a center for and by youth, where youngsters are participants and volunteers at the
same time, the participation of one young european volunteer it will help to a bigger diversity and richness
of the activities offered:

To collaborate with the staff and other volunteers in the update and diffusion of the
information about courses, activities, grants, seminars,…

To collaborate with the staff and other volunteers in the different campaign of
diffusion about Youth in Action Programme: leaflets, courses, informative points,..

To collaborate with the staff and other volunteers giving information about the Youth
in Action Programme(exchanges, EVS,..) to the youngsters that come to the center.

To collaborate with other volunteers in the animation of the play room, library, computer room and
youth room: school support, games, reading, crafts,…

To collaborate with other volunteers in the special activities of the center: Magosto(chesnut
feast), Christmas, feasts and special activities in the center, summer camps, excursion,
traditional feasts,…

To participate together other volunteers in the programming and evaluation tasks of the activities:
preparation of the materials, resource searching...

To collaborate with the staff and other volunteers in the resource loan for the associations and
volunteers.

To develop a personal project connected with some of the activities of the center according
to his or her preferences, capabilities and skills.
The general schedule of the volunteer will be 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Also the volunteer will participate together the staff and the rest of volunteers of the center in the
programming and evaluation meetings.
When the volunteer feels safe and confortable he or she will develop a personal project.
During end of June, July and August the volunteer will adapt to the activities that the center develop in
summer: summer camps, urban camps, …
Once a month the volunteer will have sociocultural training sessions.
The volunteer will have 2 days of holiday per month of project: it will be 24 days in a 12 months project,
that he or she could take together or distributed in different periods: Christmas, Easter, summer …
previous agreement with the center responsibles.
