Resumo: (1) Setting of the project
The activities that are performed in the Occupational Center revolve around four axes:

a) Occupational Therapy Service:
It comprises, according to the degree of disability of the user, different therapeutic actions aimed at preparing for a possible labor employment, or in cases of users affected, job skills acquisition and handling.

b)Personal and Social Adjustment:
This area includes training activities aimed at achieving a better personal fit through different interventions (social skills workshops, dynamics group sessions, daily assessments of factors such as motivation, behavior, etc...).
In the social field we work directly from the Occupational Center as well as from activities taking place in outside contexts of the Center such as:
 Cultural Tours
 Musical auditions
 Participation in competitions organized by Municipal and Local Entities
 Camps
 Shopping (learning development of the currency "Euro", etc ...)
 Literacy workshops

c) Sport:
All users of the Centre make a type of sport according to their degree of disability and physical characteristics.
Are performed:
 Athletics
 Football
 Hiking
 Petanque
 Adapted events
 Swimming

d) Artistic skills:
This area includes no formal actions aimed at users to develop their motor skills while enjoying their free time through the following workshops: dance, coral, crafts, etc...

(2) Local Community
The city has a great historical and artistic heritage. Underneath all the old part of the city abound Roman, Visigoths and Arabs remains. In the Middle Age, the old part of the city was one of the largest in Europe. It contains many interesting buildings, especially in from the period between the Gothic and Baroque.
This offer is complemented by magnificent bridges over the old riverbed, museums and modern achievements, such as the Music Palace and the buildings of the City of Science.

Perfil: No matter girl or boy but it is very importatn for us, the person who is coming needs to be open-mind, responsible, willing to be flexible and to collaborate. No need to have concrete studies but really the behaviour is something we really focus on and give a lot of importance.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: (1) What the organization can offer to the volunteers about service and learning opportunities
We would like volunteers acquire during their experience in our project:

TECHNICAL SKILLS LEARNING
 Development in the area of individual attention to Intellectual Disability
 Support functions in specific programs to Intellectual Disability
 Help in coordinating Leisure and Free-Time activities for Disabled People
 Support functions to professionals in adapted sports activities
 Participation in development programs of personal and social skills
 Preparation and Scheduling
 Support activities assessments and monitoring in specific cases
 Development of the activities of the Local Host Association
 Intervention support in outings and camps, etc...
 Increased capacity of observation
 Acquisition of responsibility towards disadvantaged groups
 Increased understanding of the problems of people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Through our workers and national volunteers, European volunteers will know all areas of activities taking place in Occupational Center. They will participate as support member of the professional in all activities, in the evaluation and in schedules, objectives and activities design; they will assist in the coordination and review meetings scheduled and cooperate in cultural activities outside the Association.

(2) The role of EVS volunteers in the host organization
The role of the volunteers in our organization will be to assist the professional staff in their work. This will involve carrying out all activities that have to be developed in any area within the daily schedule of the Occupational Center. Volunteers will never supersede any job.
Volunteers will be a support figure in training and educational activities with groups of young disabled people develop, under the supervision of professionals directly to users. They will help to schedule and to plan the different work areas and in activities undertaken.

Also, volunteers may not directly be responsible for any users.

In more concrete ways:
 To know all areas of occupational activities taking place in the Occupational Center,
 To participate as support member to the occupational monitor, in work, sports, social adjustment, and leisure and free-time activities which are taking place during the volunteering day.
 To participate in the evaluation and design of the schedules, objectives and activities.
 To participate, along with the technical team of the Occupational Center, in coordination meetings and scheduled review.
 Participate in cultural activities outside the Occupational Center, as well as short-stay trips that take place within the annual program.
(3) The activities in which volunteers could participate and those activities volunteers will be able to create in the organization. Provide examples of typical activities/tasks for volunteers
It is important to reiterate that all activities, in which volunteers will provide their support and effort, will be carried out with the advice and under the supervision of the professional staff of our organization.
The activities in which the volunteers will be located may be chosen by themselves as long as they can remain for some time in each workshop/activity until to be able to function with ease.

Always under the supervision of professionals and depending on the different workshops, the support of volunteers may include accompaniment of users in outside activities (especially those with greater needs).
In activities of leisure and free time and general activities, volunteers will support professionals in monitor functions. Volunteers will work in both the preparation of the activities and the care of users with disabilities.
In addition, volunteers will have a space to develop their own projects and ideas and they will receive support from both the Coordinating organization and the host Association to set them up.
More specifically, the volunteer will support and participate in the following activities:
 Occupational Activity Workshops: In it, volunteers will perform support functions to monitor in preparing productive tasks, drafting, records reviewing and follow-up of each user during the morning.
 Dining: During meal times, volunteers will help together with the monitor the users group the most affected (habits, use of utensils, napkins, etc...).
 Miscellaneous Sports: In it, volunteers with support the monitor along with the sports activities (training, clothing, etc...).
 Crafts Workshop: In it, volunteers will held support functions to monitor in making the workshop, besides accompanying disabled, supervision and assistance in their work.
 Literacy Workshop: In it, volunteers will perform support functions to monitor in schooling activities (read, write, mathematics, etc...).
 Therapy Workshop: In it, volunteers will perform support functions to the therapeutic professional in the preparation of group relaxation sessions and therapeutic physical exercises.

Horário: The schedule of volunteers will not exceed 35 hours a week (Monday to Friday from 09h30 to 17h00), activities schedule may vary depending on the content and schedule of activities (puntual activities during weekends).
Days off
Volunteers will enjoy two days of rest per week (Saturday and Sunday) and all those holidays that occur on the Spanish holiday’s calendar.
Vacations
For each month of activity volunteers will be granted of 2,5 days of vacation, which will be accumulated and enjoy after agreeing dates with the person responsible of the host organization.
It will always be considered as the holiday period, the time when the Center close for holiday or festivities.
