Resumo: The host organization is a Culture House. The house is situated in central a town with approx. 20.000 citizens. The town is situated 25 km. From the German border and the city has a shopping street, bars, restaurants and various sport activities. There are beautiful nature surroundings around: Forest, beach and scenic bike routes and if you want to visit bigger cities.

The town has 2200 sq.m. that are free to use by the citizens and it contains ceramic work area, glass art work area, play room for children, concert room/stage, meeting and conference rooms and a café serving daily hot meals, coffee, cake etc.

We are 5-7 full/part time occupied people in the house and 3 people in the office, working primarily with planning events and concerts, making reservations for meetings in the house and making PR-activities.

In the kitchen/cafe there are 2-3 people engaged in cooking, serving and giving service to customers. In the hours 7-13 the café is primarily active around elderly and disabled people and in the hours 13-18 the café is active as a ‘student’s house’ for young people aged approx. 16-25.

The town has approx. 45.000 visitors per year.

Perfil: We would like to welcome mature volunteers who speaks either english, german or danish. Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have good sense of humor, be open minded and interested in culture and music and interested in communication with both children/youth and adults.
We have no special requirements regarding education/background. It the volunteers have creative skills (such as dancing, playing music, theatre, ceramics, painting, IT) is is an advantage, but no requirement. Technical skills would also be an advantage (e.g. sound equipment, stage/light/pa).
The volunteers will be accomodated in local host families.

Tarefas: The volunteers will be given the opportunity to learn something about danish cultural life. They will help in daily running of the culture house and therefore get to know all the considerations behind our service to the citizens and they will hopefully get to meet a lot of young people from the schools in the area.
The volunteers will assist running the students cafe in the afternoon, and sometimes in the evening. Every Wednesday will be senior-day, so here the elderly will prevail.
The volunteers will also assist processing the concerts-events, help in cafe, putting up posters in the town, shopping, placing chairs for meetings/events.
If the volunteers have any special skills that he/she would like to pass on to others, they can give lessons in sewing, ceramics, dancing, gymnastics, aerobics, computing - or whatever! There are many opportunities.
