Resumo: The host organization Head office is located two stops by train from the city centre. Our office is shared with other organization. The building is comfortable and offers different rooms and places for shared lunch for all employees. Our building is close to the big shopping centre and the main the railway station.
The office arrangement provides for a very international working environment. Permanent staff members are of different nationalities – from Denmark, Ireland, France, Sweden and Poland. Apart from the permanent staff, the organization has 77 member organisation from 65 countries with whom the volunteer will be working daily
the organization will provide adequate accommodation for the volunteers at a reasonable time distance from the office.
The volunteer will be involved in all aspects of the activities and will thus enter the organisation on an equal footing with the organization’s permanent staff and will be fully integrated in all the activities. This involves being engaged in a broad array of work areas such as external and internal communications, designing and planning activities for programmes and projects, preparing and participating in various types of meetings as well as ongoing administrative tasks in the office.
Perfil: The recruitment of volunteers will be done through an open call application which will be posted on our partner’s websites as well as on the website.
The organization will ensure a transparent selection process by specifying the selection criteria prior to the call for applicants and specifying these criteria in the call. Final recruitment will be made on the basis of these pre-established selection criteria. The selection criteria includes:
- A keen interest in environmental education
- Fluent written and spoken English
- A keen interest in communications and PR
- An open mind, an interest in new office work skills, and team working
- Basic skills of website management and social media tools
- Basic knowledge of IT
The organization will also promote this opportunity for volunteering in our office through our network in Europe
Age: 17-30
Tarefas: The general activities will focus on ecological education and the working methods will be the team work as well as individual tasks. The task for volunteers will be for example assisting at and organising the General Assembly 2014, which will be potentially held in June 2014. Attending this General Assembly will be representatives from 65 countries from all our memebers organisations. The Volunteer will also take part in this meeting and also in some other international meetings, such as the National Operators’ Meetings for different programmes, which will be organised during the year in different countries.
This volunteer work will include communitcation and PR which means preparing press releases and updating websites and our social media tools, minutes from the meetings and specific tasks from programmes which the volunteer will be the most engaged on his/her daily work. Finally, the volunteer will also be part of the daily routine at the office, helping out with various administrative tasks.
Example of tasks:
- participating in bi-weekly Section Group Meeting planning and discussion of tasks.
- control visits organising and follow-up in the Blue Flag Programme
- international jury (practical details and letters to be written)
- complaints
- International Jury Meeting in the Young Reporters Programme
- Assisting in organising General Assembly 2014
- Assisting and organising Programme meetings
- Preparing information materials from various Programmes
- Managing websites e.g. news uploading, articles, etc.
- Helping in preparation of different manuals, reports etc.
- Making presentations about Programmes
- Working on newsletters for countries
Working hours: 37 hours per week (generally arround 7.5 hours flexible working days). The volunteer will be given holidays and days off according to Danish and the organization rules.
