Tarefas: In the kindergarten, the pedagogical aims include the acquisition and development of abilities which prepare the children for further learning in different areas like music, sports, arts...
Divided into little groups, the children will acquire and develop:
- intellectual, sensorial, locomotion and verbal skills,
- independence through psychomotor games of body language and the use of their imagination,
- socialization skills through collective situations which imply the learning of listening and of the respect of the others.

Learning opportunities:

- At his arrival, the volunteer will go through an observation stage, which will allow him to consider globally the different aspects of the project.
After a meeting with the project leader, the volunteer will visit the different departments and meet the staff (as well as the voluntary workers). In that way, he will be identified by the team, and have an idea of the general organization of the Institute. Then, the volunteer will meet gradually the children.
At the end of this stage, the volunteer and his tutor will be able to define together the volunteer’s project according to the possibilities and to the available resources of the institute.

Activities proposed to the volunteer:

On a daily basis, the volunteer’s schedule will be divided into two big themes: education and organisation of leisure and pedagogical activities.
The educational part will take place during lunch time. It contains for example the learning and the appropriation of hygiene, taste and social customs. The volunteer, supporting the animators, will:
- contribute to give to the children good hygienic habits (wash the hands, brush teeth)
- support the appropriation of the social customs (eat properly, know how to behave during mealtime etc…)
- stimulate the taste, the sense of smell and the sensibility to colours
- create an adequate atmosphere

The leisure and pedagogical part will take place on afternoons. This activity has more to do with the development of the artistic and locomotion skills of the child. Under the responsibility of the staff, the volunteer will participate to the workshops of early learning activities (rhythmical and musical arts, different kinds of creative expression, experimentation of techniques and materials, the whole adapted to the child’s development) and to free games.
The volunteer will have the possibility to develop a personal project during the afternoons (for example handiworks, music etc…)

The volunteer will be involved in all the festivities of the school. He will participate to the Open doors day, to the Christmas events, to the yearly fair… He will be also given the opportunity to develop a personal project (for example : week of taste, presentation of his home country…).
