Resumo: The organization is located in a middle sized city 200 km in Southern Hungary with app.

160 000 inhabitants and many high schools and the first and one of the biggest university in the country. That is why there are a lot of young people and entertainment facilities: many
cultural events and festivals are organized here. There are a lot of facilities to do sports as well. The city bears the title of European Capital of Culture in 2010; therefore there is a big
activity expected in the cultural life of the city.

The city is also famous about its Mediterranean atmosphere, that characterizes also the surroundings of the city; there are good places for excursions (mountains, castles,
wine-routes, the lakes, etc.).

The office of the organization is in a very center.
The project would take place in an ecological farm, in a suburban rural area with good public transport. The farm is open to kindergarten and school groups, and also for families. They can learn about domestic animals and plants. The
volunteers would help in hosting the groups and taking care of the animals and the garden.
At the farm we can offer a prepared environment for disabled volunteers; there are no
barriers in the building, and there is a toilet for disabled people.

The volunteers cannot smoke, this is the most important rule. The volunteers that need
accompaniment are invited with an accompanying people, but we also have a social worker
or a therapist that would be the mentor of the volunteer. We would also like to host an
accompanying person with the volunteer(s).

Perfil: We expect, first of all, application of sending organizations as we require a strong
partnership in order to provide a safe environment and successful project to the volunteers.
The volunteer should be a flexible, open, friendly person with good communication skills.

He/she must be able to keep the rules how to tend animals.
We expect CV and motivation letter from the volunteers, and if the applicant has a disability
a description about the degree of her/his disability in order to make decision whether we are
able to host her/him or not.

We have to exclude applicants with allergic disease to animals’ hair and we will have to see
our possibilities in terms of accommodation in case of applicants with grave physical
handicap for instance with wheelchair.

There are several rules that have to be respected while working in the farm:
- smoking is not allowed neither in the farm nor in the accommodation
- the rules that are introduced in the farm should be strictly respected in order to
avoid injuries.
Age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteers at this project get an opportunity to learn about ecological farming, how to
end and feed animals and how life is on a farm. With animal-therapy they can improve their
personality, social skills. They can also learn about environmental education, since they will
ake part in these activities offered for the visitors of the farm. They will work in a team with
he workers of the farm, therefore their communication skills will also develop.

The core activity of the volunteer:
? usual work with animals such as tending, feeding, cleaning their place, make sure that
they have what they need,
? hosting small groups of pupils, welcome them with a kind game, prepare sandwiches,
? take the pupils for a sort of trip, show them how they live in a farm with animals, what is
necessary to know about them, how to treat them,
? show the kids some interesting plants, how to do the gardening on a right way,
? in case of a lack of groups the volunteer is expected to do the gardening.

A usual day of the volunteer:
08h-09h: preparation for the welcome of the visitors (that can include preparation of
sandwiches)
09h-12h: guiding of the visitors on the farm (playing games)
12h-13h: lunch-break
13h-15h: everyday works around the animals, preparation for next day, evaluation of the
day.

The duration of the project is 1 month.
The 1st week is a kind of training. Our staff explains the principals of the farm, rules of
reatment of the animals; they describe the activity required around the farm and animals.

The volunteer will have an intensive language course (1,5 hours a day).

On the 2nd-4th weeks we expect an ability of initiation, the volunteer carries out her/his
asks more independently. The language courses are held twice a week.
During the last days of the service there is an evaluation process. All together the volunteers, mentors, pedagogical expert evaluate the results of the learning process.

Since the core part of the project is the learning method of the volunteer and its process, the volunteer is involved in a personal, self- development activity at the weekend as well.

We offer leisure activity such as sightseeing tour in the city under supervision of mentors. In
addition we offer private free time as well.
