Resumo: "We are looking for the EVS volunteers for the project in Seniors House.
At Pfründner Spital the elderly people spend their evening of life. This contains a professional medical and psycho-social care and supply in an individual, activating and resident-orientated way. A qualified, dedicated team allows the highest standard of quality of life and self-rule for the residents
The themes of the project are: Art and Culture and Health
Target group: elderly people - The idea of hosting the volunteers is that it is possible to provide the various and exciting exchange between the volunteers and the residents. The volunteers have the opportunity to contribute with their skills, abilities, interests, ideas and their culture to enrich the life of the residents.
The volunteers will be involved in social and psychosocial care of the seniors. At the beginning they are going to get to know the everyday processes of the residents and after they can perform their own project with the seniors. They will receive the support from the staff if it is required.
The home offers a large spectrum of tasks in different areas. The volunteers can join different areas according to their skills, abilities, interest and wishes.
The main task of the volunteers is to provide the social and psychosocial care for the seniors. This includes the accompaniment of the residents during the activities inside and outside the Home - visiting the city, arranging the errands, going for a walk, trips.
Inside the Home the volunteers should talk with the seniors, play the games. When it corresponds with the skills of the volunteers, they can make creative activities together - singing, dancing (sitting dances) or sports if it possible for the residents.
From Monday till Friday the specialist of working with seniors held different every day activities. The volunteers have the opportunity to take part in them and support individually the residents. The activities include sport, games, music, handicrafts and also cooking and backing.
The Home manager is very open to other proposals which can be brought by the volunteers according to their experience.
The broader task is to prepare the celebration (party, festival). They can as well help with the decoration of the room. The Home organize the seasonal celebrations like Thanksgiving, Santa Claus, Christmas, carnival, Easter, in which the volunteers can take the main role.
In case the volunteers have the artistic skills they can prepare the long-term interior design of the Home, for example to design and implement the murals or make them outdoors. As well it would be nice if the volunteer with musical skill will be able to organize a concert in the Home.

Perfil: The Home has no concrete requirements about the skills of the volunteers. The important is that the volunteer is open and willing to work with the seniors. It is also important that the willingness is to contribute with his/her skills and abilities.

Tarefas: Main focus of volunteer tasks will be the social and psycho-social care of the seniors at Pfründner Spital. This contains to accompany residents to go shopping, to run errands, to go for a stroll and trips. Within the House the volunteers shall talk to the seniors, play games with them and if it fits to the abilities of the volunteers they can offer creative activities to the seniors or sing, dance (dance while sitting) or do sports within the realms of possibility of the residents. From Monday till Friday daily occupations are taking place for the seniors, they are offered through an ergo-therapist. The volunteers have the opportunity to take part in these activities and to support particular residents. Beside sports, games, music and crafts these offers also contain cooking and baking. The management of the old-age-home is very open-minded for any offers, the volunteers bring along from their own experiences. Another task is to assist in the preparation of festivals. They can consider the content as well as the decoration of a room. Beside the seasonable fests like Harvest Festival, St. Nicholaus Day, Christmas, Carnival, Easter, the Home gives action-weeks, for example bavarian, french, italian weeks; Beside the typical food of the particular country also the group-rooms are decorated correspondingly at what the volunteers can take over a central role. Then there is a resident-newspaper. The volunteers also have the opportunity to participate operatively. In case the volunteers want to work artistically, there is a possibility of long-term interior design, for example to design and implement wall-images or design the outdoor area. Just as nice would be if volunteers with musical abilities arrange small concerts at the old-age home. Still the old-age home is trying to create a Web Site. This is also a possibility for the volunteers to involve themselves.
