Resumo: The main activities of volunteer will take place in the city. The city is modern with many exciting opportunities for young people. At the same time it is one of the oldest cities in Europe with interesting and rich history. There are many museums, historic sites and cinemas, sport centres, attractions. The city naturally combines different cultures, and people are very tolerant and friendly, so it is very comfortable for people from different countries. Our office is located in the area out of the center, the way from there to the city center take around 30 minutes by the public transport. We have our own small space in house that shared by several social organizations (the territory of the former kindergarten). We also have rooms, conference room, game room, which is shared with our neighbouring organizations. Our office has a work area with a computer and internet access that can be used by volunteer. Office is usually open from 9 am to 6 pm, where our coordinator or someone of our representatives working, they will support volunteer in his work and accompany to the place of project. Volunteers will have a choice to live with a local family or in the apartment for volunteers. For volunteer is being rent apartment in 20 minutes from the office. The apartment is equipped with all necessary things, single room, hot water, washing machine, kitchen, comfortable bed and necessary furniture. In case of living with a host family, all necessary things as well as meals provided.

Perfil: The most important features of our future volunteers is motivation and interest, experience and knowledge is not necessarily. Volunteer should be interested modify Ukraine and actively participate in our activities and social events. Also candidate should have basic knowledge of English or another language of international communication, because it will allow us to communicate and understand each other. For providing open selection process we will not allow gender, religion, ethnical or any other kind of discrimination. The candidates will be interviewed via Skype. Detail interview will provide comfort for volunteers and staff in the future. We will work with sending organizations that have similar goals and objectives, that working to raise awareness of young people and mutual assistance. We are open to cooperation with different types of sending organizations.

Age: 17-30

Tarefas: First of all volunteers will be involved to the main activities of our organization. They will hold lectures and events for youth and school children, promoting of the European awareness, healthy lifestyle, ecological and social issues. Also, volunteers will be offered to teach languages and assist in orphanages, people with disabilities and poor or homeless people (optionally). Volunteer will be encouraged to participate with his own ideas and experiences and during his EVS experience will have the chance to introduce new activities according to skills and interests. Volunteer will be able to participate in voluntary activities always taking into account factors such as the characteristics, the previous professional training and the personal preferences. Volunteers will work with experienced members and will be able to learn from them. Volunteer will have experience in organizational processes. Improvement of personal qualification, easier communication with children and youth, as well as people with disabilities. Volunteer will learn new language, get new social contacts and meet people from other countries, will develop cultural awareness of each other needs in a multi-cultural society. Volunteers will have the independence to their own initiatives. And do activities in accordance with own desires and abilities with the needs of modern Ukrainian society. Ukrainian Language Training Course will be provided and also we will help to feel the culture and traditions of the area. Time schedule for first month of long-term project might look like this:
Monday: work in a school with children aged 14-17, organization of informal lessons, discussions about European awareness and values. These classes will be held in English or volunteers native language (in case students learn this language). Preparing for performances, exhibitions, interesting youth events to encourage children to participate in extracurricular activities.
Tuesday: morning language lessons, then work in our office, assistance in organizing of our planned meetings and events.
Wednesday: work in a school with children aged 14-17, organization of informal lessons, discussions about European awareness and values.
Thursday: Involvement to the project Give a Day for People with Down Syndrome. Helping in organization of clubs and informal lessons for people with Down syndrome and local volunteers (this event will take place once a month).
Friday: morning language lessons. In the evening organizing workshop according to the skills of volunteer or national cultural evenings, theatre performances etc. Making of Friday Holiday.
