Resumo: The Rescue Centre is located in a town that has about 80,000 inhabitants. As a town, the main economical activity is commerce and tourist activities (hotel businesses and marinas). Its northernmost part however is one of the quietest in the region, comprising mainly of residences.
As a suburb, the town has few if any places of interest, however it is supported by a sufficient public transport system (buses, tram, etc.) making it extremely easy to access and enjoy its sights (the Acropolis, the National Park, the various museums, Plaka, etc).

Perfil: Please note that our projects are very physical demanding (lifting heavy sea turtles, walking long hours in the beach and many hours under the sun, living conditions in a camp site, heat during the summer/cold during winter) and the living conditions are very basic. You need to be very determent of your willingness to participate. Please also note that becoming an EVS volunteer you get the responsibility of making the tasks come true, so it needs a lot of commitment. Please also note the organization runs also another separate short term volunteering programme with volunteers coming for minimum 4 weeks from all over the world and the speaking language is in English.
