Resumo: The host organization is located in a city with longer that one thousand years old history situated by The Baltic Sea. It fulfils the function of being the capital city of Pomerania Region.
The cultural life of the city is as rich as its history. There are many monuments here with the extraordinary Old Town at the head. The nearness of Gdynia and Sopot additionally enriches the attractiveness of stay. Currently the city is also a city developing in a dynamic way in the economic field.

The city is also one of the biggest cities in Poland.
Since 2006 we realize EVS programme. Until now we had 35 volunteers from Europe and East countries.
All volunteers lives near the city witch is one of the district. Local train, tramp and bus stops are very close from home. From this city you need 20 minutes to get to center and 10 minutes to get to association. The organization have a lot of centers in different aeries. This is why near the city is also good location because is close to almost all centers that we have. All volunteers have free transport in all the city. We rent 2 flats with 2 or 3 rooms and until now we host 7 volunteers at the same time.
Its also good to know that in the city we have a lot of cultural events. Music, theatre, video art festivals are important in local live.

Perfil: The organization is opened to work with every volunteer, who wants to get to know the world
of intellectual disabled people. It thinks that can and want to work with them and support them in everyday duties. It will be nice if volunteer is musical talented or has an experience in theater work.
We are open to work with every sending organization witch can help us to find good candidate for our project.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: Our volunteers are working with people with intellectual disabilities.
They are working in workshops with art and sport activities. In education rehabilitation center for people with high disabilities (volunteers are involved in working in group). They support our people in individual work but also in group activities in Daily Center.

Also they work is support in home for disabled people.
We have also orchestra for people with intellectual disabilities and music school for them.
But also we have theatre and music workshops for Evs volunteers and for polish disabled and polish volunteers. Another think is “Big brother – Big Sister” activity. Every volunteer have his own disabled “friend” and they have to meet one time in the week and spend time like a friends. So go to restaurant to cinema or play some sport together.

The main task of the volunteers during the realization of the project will be supporting people with intellectual disability in everyday duties and individual help. We are planning to admit three volunteers and they will be assigned to five establishment. There will be Workshops of Therapeutic Occupations and the art gallery- Rehabilitation – Education – Center, Supported Home Music Scholl for Intellectual Disabled People. Every institution has own, different character and every volunteer will support disabled people according to the assumption of the institution in which he or she will find a place. Two voluntters will work in the Orchestra nad Muisc School and two in Occupational Therapy Workshop, two in Supported Home, one in Daily Center and three in Rehabilitation – Education - Center.

What is more volunteers will take a part in theater workshops, a person, who have been leading drama-therapy for people with intellectual disability for many years.
Volunteers will also take part in the drumming workshops with the "Remont Pomp" band, which is composed by the workers and disabled people.
Workshops will take place two times a week.
Theater and musical workshops are prepared for being connected and presented in one, common presentation.
Some of the volunteers will work also in the office to work with social media (to promote our art activities) and produce videos about our activities.
The range of obligations of volunteers in every institution:

Workshops of Therapeutic Occupations:
-culinary workshop
-organize group activities for disabled
Volunteers can also help in some sports classes:
-body building gym
-athletics
-swimming pool
Volunteers can also take part in social therapy:
-going to the cinema
-going to the theater
Volunteer’s task will by also individual support to disabled person in everyday duties, for example: teaching how to manage in using public transport, english leasons etc.

Environmental House of Self-assistance:
-hipotherapy

-nursing disabled people (taking part in this activity will be dependent on the volunteers’ agreement)

Rehabilitation-Education-Upbringing Post:

- realization of compulsory education duty for children with deepen intellectual disability in form of rehabilitation-upbringing activities and special
education for students with moderate or significant intellectual disability;
- developing individual abilities and interests and giving the opportunity for self-realization in that fields;
- developing of interesting in the surrounding world, exploring things, occurrences and processes in it;
- giving the students the opportunity to take place in various social and cultural events, introducing into the tradition and local and native habits;

Orchestra and music School:
- individual leassons with disabled
- playing with orchestra
- playing in cameral orchestra


Supported Living:
- individual support for an intellectual disabled person
- culinary workshop
- taking part in special events (i.e. birthday)
- support in cleaning
- help in shopping
- organizing group activities for disabled

Time of working for volunteer:
40% – taking part in workshops
10 % – a meal
50 % – taking part in workshops
– free time

Horário: On every Thursday during the workshops there will be musical workshops for every volunteer.
On Thursday instead of workshops from 12.30 to 14.30 there will be theater workshops for every volunteer, they will be held from 16.30 to 18.00.

Moreover, sometimes, once a month, on Saturdays will be organized some meetings for volunteers and charges, who co-operate together with the association
within the confines of the program "Big Brother - Big Sister". We want volunteers of EVS to participate in these workshops. For taking part in Saturday
meeting volunteer can get one day off (from Monday to Friday).
What is more, we think that very valuable initiative for our charges will be the tourist club, thanks to which disabled people will be able to get to know
Gdansk and surroundings. If volunteers (with our support) want to involve in creating such a club it will be possible.
