Resumo: The headquarters of the association is located in a little village. It is a place with quite large garden area, pitch and playground. There is also complex of schools in the nearby. Some of association’s activities are happening in the quarters and they are lend by the same teachers group. We lead theater, guitar, art, dance and language classes, periodicaly also we organise art, music and theater competitions. Every year we organize summer and winter leasure for youth and children-our volunteers always help us with these activities. Future volunteer could share with the receivers talents, skills, passions and use them in our actions for youngsters. We are also involved in ”Youth in action” projects - such as international exchanges and local projects, in events which promote interculturality, non formal education and voluntary service, and we have folk band ”Folkapela”, which performes european folk and popular repertoire - in all of those activities volunteer can be involved as well.

The population is approximately 60 000 citizens (most of them are ex-miners with their families). Some of youth participating in our classes repeatedly originate from families with lesser living standard, experiencing alcohol, financial or health problems.

Perfil: We would like to host volunteers open to others, tolerant and keen to cooperate and help. It would be good if they were acquainted with topics related to art (graphic art, music, theatre). The maximum amount of volunteers in one project is 4 persons.
When the visiting organization profile is concerned, we would like to cooperate with such, which aims are similiar to ours, institution, which tasks are focused on extending and developing artistic gifts of youth, engaging them in european initiatives and organizing them free time.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: Volunteers will have an opportunity to work with children and youth, organize them free time between school classes (according to their own idea or consistent with their own interests), but also during Summer and Winter holidays.
They will have a chance to get to know work organization by cultural enterprises ran by our post and with a partnership of other organizations we collaborate with.
The work of volunteers will possibly revolve around ”Youth in action” projects and others, which are during realization or just will be.

Volunteers will be able to observe classes (mostly graphic art classes) lend by our specialists, to participate in them, acquiring knowledge and also, learning polish language.
All the time volunteers will cooperate with coordinator, who will be help for them. All activities, in which volunteer will be involved, will be consulting, to fit them to expectations and needs of particular volunteer.
Most of all, the role of volunteers is to visualize that we all are citizens of one Europe, that we can cooperate with other nationalities representatives and we are open to learn their culture and teach them ours. We want to show other young people that new Europe gives all its citizens a possibility to get to know different cultures, regardless of wallet’s wealth, nature defects or skin color.

Also, we want to teach acceptance of otherness, tolerance, breaking stereotypes and opposition to xenophobia. At the same time, we urge to bring some freshness, full of curiosity, interest in our actions into our environment, exposing that way our volunteers’ personalities.

Essentials volunteers’ action would be work with children and youth in the following forms:
organizing particular actions for children and youth (related strictly to volunteer’s interests) - individually (under the supervision of qualified personnel), with functions shared with leading instructor within the framework
of organized classes (artistic: music education, modern, social dance, graphic arts etc, computer classes), in the character of observer-assistant; organizing (organizational aid) environmental events, previews, competitions, i.e. Santa Claus holiday, graphic art competitions, the Children Day, artistic groups previews, etc.) - from event scenario, projects, regulations to evaluation; Organizing summer and winter holidays (stationary) - cooperation with partner institutions, i.e. the Youth Community Centre - going-aways with children, games etc.

Volunteers would collaborate also by realization of our projects, mainly those within the framework of international exhchanges and local initiatives. They would also have a chance to realize their own projects and ideas, not only the union ones.
