Resumo: "most community in Liechtenstein between wonderful
vineyards and close to the swiss mountains. The location is easily reached by public transport from
the railwaystations of Sargans and Buchs. Since more than 20 years the people in charge or Haus
Gutenberg work with the guiding theme «Finding the center – live conciliation». Haus Gutenberg
achieved a good reputation in Liechtenstein, the surrounding region as a place for training and
seminars with a special atmosphere. Since 2004 Haus Gutenberg is a foundation, which is supported
by the state of Liechtenstein, the municipality of Balzers, private companies and people as well as a
wide circle of friends.
Until now the organisation has no direct experience with the European Youth Programme. However
courses and seminars concerning the topic Youth are held in our house. We have few experience
with trainees, which we would like to change this by hosting a volunteer.
Haus Gutenberg is not a live- in community.
Motivation of the Organisation in hosting an international volunteer: We are a house which aims at
integral human education. This should not stay a theoretical idea but should be implemented
practically. Therefore it is very important for us and the young person which will be hosted at Haus
Gutenberg to find out about differences. Furthermore to understand them and therefore to boarden
the horizons of all included in the project. It can be very interesting for young person to learn about
project-based way of working and the diversity of a non profit organisation."

Perfil: "Profile of the volunteer: -A mature and independent young person -Language skills in German and
English -Elementary knowledge of computers (PC) -Respect towards spiritual dimensions -Friendly
and helpful attitude towards course and seminar participants -Ambition and Motivation to develop an
own project. -Organised and likes to work creativly and efficiently."

Tarefas: "Possible Tasks for a volunteer which will be adapted to the profile of the volunteer. - Helping with
the maintenance of the House and Garden (15%) - Helping in the Kitchen (15%); the volunteer will

get to know different ways of preparing food (e.g. vegetarian, cuisine, cooking with biological
products) - Assisting the reception (10%); the volunteer will learn how to deal with guests and
different PC- programmes - Assistance in implementation of Seminars (40%); learning how to plan
seminars, meetings with trainers, negotiation techniques, Calculation etc. - Helping in keeping the
contact to local organisations and people and their working methods. (10%): - Helping to organise
activities with local people, mainly youth (10%) In the first three month the volunteers can try out
the different tasks. After this the volunteer and the tutor will discuss together the following workplan
(win-win Situation). The aim of hosting a volunteer is to realise a new intercultural dimension into
the training programme of House Gutenberg. The Volunteer will participate actively in organising a
seminar on youth education. With the support of the mentor the volunteer will get to know the
development of a seminar from the beginning to the end. His/ her ideas and suggestions will be
considered."

Condições: "Learning oppportunities for a Volunteer: Each volunteer will have a tutor. The tutor will meet the
volunteer on a regular basis to check on progress during his/her work. Together they will discover
strategies for finding solutions. Furthermore an evaluation meeting between the volunteer and the
national agency will be held every month. Monthly a freetime activity for the Liechtensteinian and
Austrian volunteers from Vorarlberg is organised. The volunteer will be actively involved in the
team work. He or she can participate in team meetings. The volunteers will get a profound insight
into NGO work. The organisation Haus Gutenberg has a straightforward structure which enables the
volunteer in getting a good insight into different tasks (mulitasking) e.g. business man"
