Resumo: One of the most popular activities among the locals in this organisation is theatre. The organization co-operates with another local association, which organizes activities to local inhabitants and promotes services for the local people. All the work by both associations is based on voluntary work only. Most of the Finnish volunteers are mainly seniors, elderly people who are very interested in voluntary work in their local community. There has been a similar group EVS project twice before. Description of the voluntary place:
The organization is a small, nice and peaceful village with 200 inhabitants. It’s situated 100 km north from the city. There are no supermarkets, shops or cafes nearby, not even well-connected public transport which means volunteering in a peaceful place next to the beautiful nature. Free time activities are such as swimming, sauna, sports activities (eg. rowing, baseball, football) and some visits to nearby museums and towns.

Perfil:  18-30 years old
 open-minded and flexible
 interested in Finnish culture
 not having or having less international experience
 adaptable to live in the countryside
 motivation to learn and do voluntary work!
 has probably some of the specific skills listed in the tasks
 social skills

Tarefas: The voluntary work is divided in two pats in the village. The first part is to assist local volunteers, the cultural youth organisation of the village. There the work includes clearing the costume storage, organizing a small exhibition of old posters and different renovating tasks. During the second week the voluntary work is organized by organization and the voluntary work is renovating and painting in the old school of the village, some gardening tasks outside, and planning an intercultural evening. During the whole project the volunteers work with local Finnish volunteers who are mainly elderly people.

-media work (one or two volunteers): creating and updating a blog, taking photos, marketing
