Resumo: The volunteer will be working closely with our event coordinator, as well as the rest of the Culture Team. The Culture Team consists of two concert and event organisators, the film and design leader, the leader of the indoor rock climbing facilities, the café and the international leason. The work will typically take place at the premises of the art centre, mostly in the afternoons and evenings, but will also vary according to events and workshops.

The event coordinator and main volunteer contact has long experience in working with youth. She’s well known within different subcultures and knows a lot about hiphop/ breakdance among other culture expressions. She speaks English very well.

The organization is located near the centre of town, walking distance to railway, bus lines and ferry terminal, and the airport buss.

The city is the administrative, business and cultural capital of South Norway. The present population of 82.000 makes one of the largest cities. Music and theatre plays a key role on the city’s cultural stage, the International Church Music Festival, the culture-night and the Punkt Festival are the most prominent annual events.

Perfil: We are looking for youth with a hip hop or break-dance background. As we want to make our dance environment stronger, it is an advance if you have experience in running dance classes and that you speak good English, are outgoing, creative and able to create your own tasks.
It’s a plus if you are experienced in other elements such as film, Photoshop, music and so on, but it’s not required.
You can be in age of 18 to 30, but we will give priority to applicants in the age of 22 and over.

Tarefas: As previously stated, the volunteer will be working closely with our event coordinator. The volunteer will also be in charge of starting up different workshops within different breakdance and hiphop styles. A typical working week will be spent running workshops, promoting the possibilities in hiphop/ breakdance at the Art Centre, helping with meals at our daytime education program, working and planning different events, blogging, social media and so on. The volunteer will be working mostly afternoons/evenings, depends on the Centre activities.
