Resumo: With a population of about 350 000 inhabitants the city is one of the largest cities of Bulgaria.
The city has always been a popular destination for tourists from Germany, Russia, France, Belgium and others. There are four major university with students from Bulgaria and abroad. The history of the city began 1200 years B.C., and knows many different civilizations. All this makes the city a lively place. There are many indoor and outdoor events taking place throughout the year - international music, theater, film and cultural festivals, sport events, trade fairs, photo and art festivals. Furthermore many youth activities are organized- trips, trainings, workshops and parties. For those interested in art and history, the city offers several museums, ancient Greek artifacts, Necropolis, and more.
Like every tourist destination the city offers as well a very diverse nightlife for its visitors.
Like any big city is not so safe to live, but it is the city with the lowest unemployment rates in Bulgaria (only 3.5%), which reflects positively on the level of criminality, which is one of the lowest in country.
Most of our activities take place in the office of the organization, which is located near the center of the city. During the summer months we organize also outdoor activities that take place within the city. In the event that the planned activities are outside the city, they are always organized and guided by a responsible representative of the organization.
Perfil: Volunteers must be open to work with different people in terms of their social background or ethnicity. They should be motivated to participate actively in the activities of the Association and interested in working with young people. No special skills are required for the vacancies.
During the selection process we will first assess the motivation of the applicants to participate in the activities of the organization. All applications will be considered and discussed with the team members, regardless of origin, gender, religion or else of the candidate. To ensure that the proposed voluntary service matches the interests of the candidates before final selection we will conduct interviews with them.
Information about the vacancies will be spread through both our partner organizations and by posting information on the web - on our website and facebook, volunteering groups and sites and others. We would like to partner with host organizations whose work focuses on disadvantaged youth. They must share our belief that young people, NGOs and institutions shall together develop new strategies for changing attitudes towards people in disadvantage situation. This will help us to share experiences, learn from each other and together contribute to greater tolerance in society, not only nationally but also internationally.

Tarefas: Since the organization has a variety of activities, volunteers can choose where to participate in accordance with their interests - artistic activities for young people with disabilities, organization of exhibitions and events, informal language courses for youth, outreach and promotion of volunteering locally. Additionally, the volunteers may be involved in the preparation and implementation of various international projects of Association.
Volunteers will acquire skills in individual and group work with young people from different origin. They will learn about the work of building international partnerships, the activities for organizing youth motilities and management of various events. They will gain presentation skills and ability to handle online media. Volunteers will get acquainted with the work of organizing leisure time activities for young people , and methods for working with disadvantaged youth . The activities will encourage their creativity and their ability to act and think innovative.
The volunteers will learn about cooperation with European and international partners in the field of non-formal education. During the work with colleagues, partners and young people from different backgrounds, the volunteers will develop their teamwork skills, as well as communication, social and intercultural skills.
Volunteers will mainly support the staff in their daily duties: consultation and support for youth willing to participate in EVS, promoting EVS - presentations in schools and universities, publishing information about the EVS online, communication with international partners, informal language meetings, leisure time activities of youth , workshops for applied arts , outdoor activities , cooking and more. Daily work in the office and their presence on the weekly team meetings will also be part of their duties. When running larger events during their voluntary service, volunteers will also be able to participate in the preparation of the event, its implementation and evaluation (seminars, exhibitions, outreach, and camps). Alternatively volunteers can also publish interesting news from the field of youth on the internet and the website of the association. In the event of their desire, the volunteers can be involved in other activities that the organization realizes.
Individual projects and activities of the volunteers will be discussed and planned with them in accordance with their interests as soon as they arrive. In the association we will be happy to realize the ideas of every volunteer motivated to take action.
