Resumo: During the 20th century, the city changed from an agricultural based economy to a diversified industry-orientated city with an important commercial infrastructure and associated services. Many outstanding companies have their head-office in the city: building and publishing companies, diversed manufactures, textile and ice cream factories, etc. The industry of services represents the 74,68% of the economic activity. The city has become a very important commercial city due to its influence area, which is estimated about 300,000 inhabitants.

Social situation
As of January 2010, the city has an unemployment rate of 20% approx. Thus, the City Hall has developed a strong policy to enlarge the opportunities of the inhabitants of the city and to promote the employment in the city.
Programs have been led by the organization, designing and developing training courses, workshops and seminars with great success adapted to real and local needs: training to promote employment and work orientation, focused on target social groups – youngs, women, unemployed, etc…- as well as Lifelong Learning Education.

Perfil: The organization, as a Public Entity depending on the City Hall, has to follow strict policies about the recruitment process. The EVS volunteer will be chosen without prejudice related to ethnic group, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion, etc. In this perpective, we ensure an open transparent recruitment process by giving an equal opportunity to all the voluntary-seekers.

The main point which will be examined is the motivation of the EVS Volunteer. Indeed, the volunteer has to explain why does he want to collaborate with the organization? Why does he want to come to Spain and why in the city? For example, improving his/her knowledge about Spanish culture can be an objective but the volunteer has also to be interested in what he will be working for. Working with people who experience the economic crisis in Spain will allow the volunteer to see how it is managed at a local level. He/she will be able develop its own point of view about the crisis and its consequences. Also, the volunteer has to prepare himself/herself to a process of cultural adaptation. The EVS is a great way to feel as a European.

We would like to work with any type of sending organization, public or private entities, specialized in working with the youth and the unemployed. The objective is that the volunteer collaborate actively to the promotion of employment mesures. The priviledged themes can be the following: urban and rural development, communication and youth information.
Age:17

Tarefas: Our projects will focus on urban/rural development, communication and youth information.
The role of the EVS volunteer in the organization will consist in being polyvalent. The volunteer will be given the opportunity to have an active role in implementing the activities the organization is working on. The EVS will collaborate in most of the activities of the organization related to the objective of creating new employment perspectives and of advising and informing young people.

Our activities are dedicated to the unemployed and to young people who have difficulties to find a secure position on the labour market. The service of work guidance of the organization is working on designing and developing training courses and lifelong learning through workshops, seminars and individual interviews. Indeed, it is important to create a personalized and an active job search mechanism in order to integrate individually each person. The objective of the service is to prepare the youth to face the new requirements of the labour market. In this case, the service is working hand in hand with service in charge of professional training.

In this perspective, the EVS volunteer will participate to the day-to-day tasks (to assist work reunions and seminars, etc...). For example, he will be able to collaborate providing information about the Red Eures, the European Job Mobility Portal, after having received all the information about the functionning of the system. Thus, the EVS will become familiar with European networks and job opportunities. It is important to note that the experience gained by the EVS inthe organization should be useful and should enlarge its opportunities for the future. In this perspective, developing a technical knowledge of these tools is a key feature of those times.
The EVS volunteer will participate, under the supervision of an agent of the organization, to the events led by the service for employment as workshops and seminars. For example, the EVS volunteer can collaborate to training programs about ICT technologies (through the INTERNAUTA program).

Moreover, always working with an experienced agent of the organization, the EVS volunteer will collaborate directly with the volunteers, explaining them the necessary procedures to benefit from European programs. The EVS volunteer, in this case, will be able to use its own experience especially about the European Voluntary Service. Sharing experiences, point of views and cultural differences is part of the program as well and it will allow the EVS to broaden his understanding of the Spanish culture.
Also, there is a possibility of creating an intercultural group for young people or for students of the organization´s workshop if the volunteer feels able to lead this project (giving classes in his/her mother tongue) in partnership with the work team.

We think that a direct involvement of the Volunteer in the activities of the agency is the best way for the Volunteer to create a welcoming climate and to create the necessary conditions for a fruitful and succesful collaboration. In this perspective, the volunteer will learn a lot about the action of municipalities at local level and about the daily management of the economic and financial crisis and its consequences for the young unemployed people.

The volunteer will collaborate directly with the experienced work team. This experience should be a way to learn a lot, to improve its profesional profile (in the area of youth information, european projects and employment) and to enrich its general understansting of the European citizenship.

The volunteer will work 35 hours at week, (including linguistic training), starting at 08:00 h to 15:00h from Monday to Friday and two Tuesday afternoon at month from 16 to 18:30. For the linguistic training, the organization will provide the necessary teaching materials and the staff of the organisation will support the volunteer in the process of learning a new language. All the staff of the Agency has the “Aptitude teaching Certificate”. For the language training the volunteer will have one hour a day.

Condições: The accommodation for volunteers will be managed by the organization and depending on the project presented, there will be two possible modalities for the accommodation, one posibility is with local families, these families will provide accomodation and food for the voluntaries, these families will be selected by the organization and they will receive the financial support that appears in the project. The second form is in a shared apartment with other volunteers of the program or with students, in this last case the project will pay the monthly pass of public transport , in this second posibility the volunteer will receive a monthly fee for maintenance.
The payment to the volunteer's pocket money and money for maintenance, if the project takes up this last option, will be by bank transfer monthly.
