Resumo: The office of the host organization is situated in western part of Latvia, in one of the largest towns in Latvia. Historically our town had a very mixed population - latvians, russians, lithuanians and some other minority groups. There are a lot of people who belongs to so called risk group - disatvantaged children from Orphanage, poor families, children with disabilities. The city also has one of the largest blind people communities in Latvia. People are very friendly and welcoming against other cultures. There are some regions - former Naval Port, where the poorest people live. But in the same time there is a very active youth and children, who are really interested in all activities which take place in this region.

Our office is situated in one of the bigest inhabitable areas. There are block houses around and very good public transport connection with the central part of town. The sea is a 3 min walk from our office and the surroundings is very green. So this is a perfect place for outdoor activities. A 5 min walk from the office is an old fortification system, with small knolls, forest etc.

From here come various musicians, artists, painters, sportists... The town offers a wide range of cultural and social activities. Films are shown in many languages in the cinema, many diverse events take place and many opportunities for doing different sports are given. Various styles of pubs, clubs and restaurants are open to a wide spectrum of people. This gives any young person the possibility to choose between the activities he/she likes and to meet nice people.

The volunteers will share their time with the group of children and youth in the organization and children and youth from different part of the city.

The volunteers will have a choice of living accommodation: His/her own flat in any town part or in a shared apartment with other young people.

Perfil: The volunteer candidates should be aged between 18 and 30 with some computer skills, basic English and ideally an elementar knowledge of non-formal education. Enthusiasm and interest in inclusion, education and the European project are more important than qualifications. The volunteer should be open-minded, interested and ready to work in an international environment. We will always discuss the project at length with the volunteer to ensure that if the funding is granted the project will be a positive experience for all parties, clarifying details about the role and the aims of the project through writing the application together. We will also leave space for the volunteer to input into the project and shape it more to their interests during the volunteer period.

Tarefas: Learning about host country and contributing to the activities of host organisation. This element of the project will vary between host organisation. In Liepajas Jaunie Vanagi, this entails:
• Helping in the youth centre, using music, art and sports as tools with young people
• Planning local projects and a youth exchange between the host and sending organisations;
• To lead activities informing about internationalism and the Erasmus+
• Engaging with the municipality on youth and health issues.
• Work on program for child participation in decision making process.
