Resumo: In the county there are a few youth organizations within the field of disability so we decided to start one ourselves. It is a regional organization and our main target group is children, youth and young adults and people up to the age of 40. The organization is for people regardless of diagnosis as we want to focus on the activities and not the diagnosis. Our goal is to become a national organization and establish the organization all over Sweden.
We offer different activities in the organization and our motto is that it should be concrete, fun and social. Some of our activities include leisure activities for young people with disabilities; monthly activities such as mini educations, inspirational meetings. Other activities have included bowling, wheelchair handball, movie night, winter holiday sports camp, summer camp, badminton, study visits etc. We feel it is important that our target group meet new people and gain a bigger network, both digitally and in real life.

We also cooperate with the municipality and offer summer jobs for disabled youth.
The organization is situated in a small city in the south of Sweden with a municipality of 80.000 inhabitants.
The office of the association is in the city center and is very close to the bus and train station. The offices are wheel chair accessible.

Perfil: - enjoys working in a team with people with different backgrounds
- is interested in helping people with different kinds of disabilities
- understanding, social, helpful and takes initiative
- has driving license and has experience driving
-age: 17 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteer`s role in this project is to give support to people with disabilities in the region.
The volunteer will be in a team with 10-15 people who have different areas of responsibility. The volunteer will be responsible for the assistance area.
Here are some of the activities for the volunteer:
- Give practical support to people with disabilities (for example people using wheelchairs or persons with visual impairment)
- Drive members of the city to the association or to different places such as the supermarket, cinema, sport activities.
- Assist persons between 15 and 65 years old during meetings, leisure activities and services.
- To spread information within the region about the services of the organization
- To help develop the services of the association by own assisting but also by bringing ideas and projects.

Note: the project does not include assisting the target group with daily tasks like hygiene or meals.

Condições: Accomodation: room in an apartment with shared bathroom and kitchen.
Working times: usually the volunteer works during week-days but sometimes he/she will work on weekends and evenings.
