Resumo: The town is located in the northern part of the county. The inner area of the town it is surrounded by the Hills. Population: about 13.000 people. Most of the employees work locally, though the number of those commuting to the city is still considerable, and the number of those working in the neighbouring towns has increased.

The town was granted town status as of 1st July 2007 based on its balanced economy, the network of public utilities, the low rate of unemployment, the system of institutions providing basic care, the active cultural and sports life, the developed civil society and town planning. The town is 20 kms away from the city and can be reached easily by train/bus (25-30 minutes) .

In the last 5 years many young families moved to the town, but the infrastructure could not keep pace with the rapidly growing number of children in the area. Conclusively the day-care of children under the age 6 is hardly solved. Based on these needs we opened our day-care and parenting centre in 2007, with the aim of helping mothers who would like to return to work. We try not only to baby-sit the children, but to provide them with interesting educational program, healthy food and an environment where they are motivated to develop. We provide Montessori educational challenges.

We own a 340 m2 family house for the day-care centres in the centre of the town . As we work with small children it is legally not allowed to smoke, drink or use drugs in the facilities of our organisation. Therefore the volunteers should not be under any kind of drug addiction while working

Desrciption of the building: 4 large rooms, 1 room for relaxing/sleeping, 1 dining-room, 4 bathrooms. The number of rooms makes it possible to organise distributed group or common programmes. The huge garden has many trees and plants and wooden toys.

Our centre is open from Monday to Friday 07.30AM till 18.00PM and sometimes have activities on Saturdays. We are usually closed from Christmas to New Years.. During the summer time there are summer camps organized for the clients of the center.
We are like a small kindergarten we have 15 - 21 children in small groups

Perfil: Our organisation is open to receive all volunteers without discrimination. However, we consider the following qualities of our candidates
as essential: patience, tolerance, friendliness and love of children
as useful or helpful: flexibility, openness, cheerful character, good sense of humour, creativeness.

It is important that the volunteers be aware of the fact that they will live in a small community (town of 13 000 inhabitants) and will work with children, which is in itself a big responsibility. As we work with small children it is legally not allowed to smoke, drink or use drugs in the facilities of our organisation. Therefore the volunteers should not be under any kind of drug addiction while working.

The recruitment process: We hope that sending organisations or volunteer candidates will send us a motivation letter with reflections on the information in our HEI and some information about the volunteer (containing availability, reasons and motivations). After this our organisation intends to contact the sending organisation by e-mail to clarify further details and help the decision process on both sides. We intend to contact the candidates either via skype, or phone or e-mail.

The strong motivation and willingness to work with children are more important for us than any previous work experience or typical qualification. We will, however, prefer volunteers who can stay longer, as small children need time to build and keep their relationship with the volunteer and we would like to give them as much time as possible. The selection of volunteers will be done on a first-come-first-served basis, i.e. if the right candidates are found and accepted, the position is considered taken for a given period.
Knowing the EVS programme we saw that one big problem is that in many cases there is hardly any contact between the host and sending organisations, therefore we will lay emphasis on keeping contact with the volunteer also via the sending organisation.

The type of sending organisation we would like to work with: (preferably) scout and girl guide organizations, educational organisations.

Tarefas: Service and learning: The volunteers can develop their sense of responsibility, problem solving skills, communication skills, they can get new practical skills by dealing with children and organising several activities. Hopefully they will grow and develop in their respect for other people, readiness to help, solidarity, kindness, openness for other cultures.

By living far away from their families and being responsible for all their issues they will become more independent. By working with small kids and being in close relationship with the parents they will be able to learn a lot about family life, motherhood/fatherhood, education of children (especially early days aducation).

Role of the volunteers: The volunteers will support our team in the day-care centre in our every-day tasks. We will involve them in each part of our work and they will have the possibility to decide in which tasks they would like to help us. They will also take part in all internal meetings and trainings to enrich their knowledge about the work with children. Their main role is to bring the idea of volunteerism and intercultural learning to our community and to bring some fresh ideas and enthusiasm to our everyday work.

Activities in which the volunteers can be involved: They can take part in the general daily work around the kids: playing, changing diapers, helping in preparing the meals, gardening, teaching songs and nursery rhymes, dances, updating our homepage. They can help us in organising the summer camps, teen clubs or special events during the holidays (e.g. Christmas, Easter). They can provide personal support to those kids, who need it. We are open to discuss further ideas, the volunteer want to be involved.

Activities which the volunteers can create: They can come up with their own fresh ideas on how to organise e.g. Christmas or Easter party in our centre. They can use their own methods to teach the kids drawing, singing, handicrafts. They can teach the kids some songs, rhymes in their own language. They can cook some special meal, etc.
