Resumo: "The project will take place in Vienna. Vienna is the capital of Austria and has about 1.8 million inhabitants.
This project is coordinated by Grenzenlos, and the volunteer will be integrated into the MELANGE program. This means that he/she will have the opportunity to meet the 26 other foreign EVS volunteers as well as Austrian returnees. All volunteers will be offered leisure time activities, in order to become acquainted with specifics about Austrian and Viennese culture. There are monthly meetings that provide continuous follow-up of the volunteers and are a social event where current, future and former volunteers can meet. Grenzenlos also organises housing, helps find language courses for the volunteers and offers a mentoring program as well as help with all administrative matters.
Many historical buildings offer loads of sight seeing opportunities, but fortunately Vienna is also influenced by modern times: it has a lively night life, many opportunities to practice sport and a large cultural programme.
The day-care is located in the 7th district of Vienna; about 20 minutes from the city center and is easy to reach with public transportation
The project will be part of the so called MELANGE programm supported and funded by the city of Vienna/wienXtra. Within the MELANGE programm which is coordinated by Grenzenlos, we try to bring together EVS volunteers in Vienna.
Within MELANGE, Grenzenlos organizes YOUTH activities on behalf of the City of Vienna, mainly EVS. Each year Grenzenlos sends and receives an average of 30 young people each, plus short term exchanges. Our main priorities are working with disadvantaged youth (e.g. handicapped people, young migrants, long term unemployed,...) and exchanges with countries in Eastern Europe, Southern Eastern Europe and the MEDA region.

Perfil: "A volunteer in KG Teddybär should in general be interested and willing to work with children. This is simple the only condition we have for volunteers. No further experiences or skills are required.
The project KG Teddybär is coordinated by Grenzenlos within the MELANGE programm. Within the networks of Grenzenlos the project placement is promoinvite and all young people interested in the hosting placements are invited to apply. An application consist of a CV, a Motivation letter and the full detaisl of the responsible sending organisation which Grenzenlos forwards to KG Teddybär where the selection will be made within the team and the parents.
All vacant placements of Grenzenlos EVS projects will be sent to all partner organisations of Grenzenlos and will be published on the 'evs works'-site as well. In this way the placement is open for all applications.
However in the selection procedure a preference is shown for candidates with fewer opportunities. The applicants are informed about specific preferences (gender, background etc) including the justification for these preferences. The applicants are welcome to inform about the current procedures an ask questions at any time. Upon request, the hosting placement can be asked to give reasons for their selection.
Regular formal and non-formal meetings with the staff of Grenzenlos and the project mentor are planned.

Tarefas: "An international volunteer would be part of the Kindergruppe Teddybär-Team in the following sense:
The volunteer would help with all outdoor and indoor activities and would be able to bring in his/her own experiences as well as his/her cultural background. Our children would learn about how children grow up in his/her country and would be able to pick up some words of his/her language or learn a song or two. According to his/her special interests and skills, the volunteer could propose and coordinate a theme or project being realized with the group (e.g. learn a new creative technique, play theatre, cook a meal...). He/she would be able to participate in all other activities around the year such as birthday-parties, summer parties and an attend the regular parents meetings. This way, the volunteer would get a chance to get to know the families closer and understand the organization´s structure, if interested.
Besides the educational work, an international volunteer would have to help with all the works of every day life in the group as parents and teachers do likewise, without replacing the staff or the parents´ duties (helping get the children dressed, change nappies if necessary, help with preparation of food and the dishes etc.).
Within the MELANGE programm also a variety of freetime activitioes are proposed to the volunteers. If he/she wanst it is also possible to present workshops with the support of Grenzenlos to the other EVS volunteers.
