Resumo: "The project will take place in Vienna. Vienna is the capital of Austria and has about 1.8 million inhabitants.
Our kindergarten is situated in the 7th district of Vienna, which is at the moment one of the most popular places in town close to the center. .
The building dates from the early 19th century and was the birthplace of a local well known painter called Friedrich Amerling.
Since the late 1970s it hosts a number NGOs in the cultural and social field.
This project is coordinated by Grenzenlos, which means that the volunteer will be integrated in the MELANGE programm, the EVS in Vienna in cooperation with the city of Vienna/wienXtra This means that she will have the opportunity to meet 25 other foreign EVS volunteers as well as Austrian returnees. All volunteers will be offered a leisure time programm, in order to get to know specifics about the Austrian and Viennese culture. There are monthly meetings in order to offer continuous follow-up of the volunteers and to offer a social event where current, future and former volunteers can meet. Grenzenlos also organizes housing, helps with finding language courses for the volunteers and offers a mentoring programm as well as help with all administrative matters.

Perfil: "Volunteer Profile
The Kindergruppe Amerlinghaus is only hosting volunteers between September and July.
A volunteer in KG Amerlinghaus should in general be interested and willing to work with children. This is simple the only condition we have for volunteers. No further experiences or skills are required.

Tarefas: "Proposed Activities
EVS volunteers are expected to spend around 30 hours/week in the kindergarden and support the staff with daily activities.Volunteers are granted the opportunity to improve their language skills and they will get important insights into the work with children . All our kindergarten teachers are well trained and support the group with their various backgrounds.
One of them for example is trainer at the ballet school of the State Opera in Vienna.
We expect the volunteers to support our kindergarten teachers by their work, especially when the group is having lunch or they go out on play inggrounds, museums and so on. And we want to encourage them to share their various cultural backgrounds with us.
It depends of the knowledge of the candidates . One of our last volunteers for example had good practice in working with children and she was a good musician. So she could offer polish songs to the group, which was pretty much welcomed by the children.

Horário: " day in our Kindergarden can look like following:

8.30 h - 10.00 h
Arrival of the children, they decide themselves what they want to play
Breakfast will be prepared

10.00 h - 12.30
Circle session or any other prepared session guided by one of the teachers
Topics could be f.i.

Music-singing songs
Fairy tales
Creative painting or little hand crafts
Working with montessori material
Easter, carneval, christmas etc
Excursions like ice skating, going to the park etc
gymnastic
Different games which play with all senses

Lunch (12.30 h)
The lunch is one of the main fixed rituals, after lunchtime there is a space for relaxing and diggesting. A volunteer is expected to eat also lunch together with the kids.

Afternoon
Usually in the afternoon the main focus is on playing especially in the fresh air or ""doing nothing"" children get picked up by ther parents

The group is getting smaller, after noon break with, individual activities can be done
