Resumo: "Potenzial Jugend is a project for young people between 15 and 21 years with special educational needs. The aim is to integrate them in the labour market.
We are working in groups up to seven people with a constant trainer. We want to prepare the participants for every day working life. This means on the one hand to work in fictious situations in the training rooms of the project and on the other hand to work in real situations in companies. The youth are able to try different types of work like gardening, working in supermarkets or in a kitchen, cleaning and so on.
Potenzial Jugend exists now for five years and we are coaching about 30 youth each year. Accessorily we coach the youth that accomplished to get a job and their employing companies.

"

Perfil: "Volunteer Profile
The volunteer should be older than the target group we are working with (>20). Beside that, the volunteer should be interested in work with young people with special educational needs. Direct attention in our project is given to the areas like unemployment, job market and training on the job.
Interest in learning German should be a priority objective so that the volunteer is able to work with the youth as soon as possible. Our participants are not able to speak English so the trainings can only have German as working language.

"

Tarefas: "Proposed Activities
A volunteer has the opportunity to work with our young participants about different cultures so that baseless fears of unknown can be taken away. She/he should be an assistant in training and working situations and support the trainer and the youth. There is the possibility to work with different groups of people and get to know techniques in preparing young people with special educational needs to working situations.
The volunteer can work with the groups of youth at fix dates, including the training in the project and the care for the young people in the training companies.
An example for a task of a volunteer is to join the trainings with different groups of young people in our project, per group about once a week. We would like the volunteer to give the young people in our project an insight in her/his culture, but related to the topics we are working on in Potenzial Jugend. For example one topic could be the difference of job markets in the volunteers native country and Austria. The volunteer would get support from the constant trainer team to develop her/his own ideas and to implement her/his sessions with the group.
The volunteer would work for about 30 hours a week, from Monday to Friday. The time schedule and the tasks of the volunteer depend on the individual programs for the groups of youth. Depending on the type of group interships that are planned the tasks and times of the volunteer change as well. In accordance with the team, a suitable time schedule will be developed.
