Resumo: Liechtenstein is one of the smallest countries in Europe, measuring only 160 km2. It is inhabited by about 36,800 people. It is situated in the Alps and it is characterised by the Rhine valley and the mountains, which measure up to 2,600 meters. The neighbouring countries are Switzerland and Austria. Liechtenstein has developed from a agricultural state to an industrial state in the last 50 years. Liechtenstein is a constitutional hereditary monarchy on a democratic and parliamentary basis.

The host organization covers the social-educational needs for young people and children in residential care, in Liechtenstein. The host organization provides a structured living possibility. The aim of the project is to promote a positive development in the whole family system and to deal with responisbilities and tasks of daily life in an age appropriate manner (eg. At work, school, career, relationships etc.). The host organization has different offers, a core group for medium to long stays, a crisis room, for short term emengency placements (eg family crisis situations) and a special form of living for young adults as well as young mothers (Independent living). The host organization also provides aftercare to families and young people, when the young person has moved on from residentail care. Since 2008 we also provide independent living houses where max 6 young people can practice living independently.
The team is made up of social carerer, psychologists and Familytherapists

Perfil: We are looking for a volunteer that can speak German, that has a full driving licence and is older than 22 years

Tarefas: • We offer a max. 10 month insight into stationary youth work in Liechtenstein.
• The volunteer will get to know and learn about a social organisation with multiple social areas.
• The volunteer will be guided by their mentor in talks
• The volunteer will be supported in daily tasks by the worker in shift.
• They will be part of the weekly team meetings
• There will be no night shifts or weekend shifts for the volunteer
• Support for leisure time activities will be given if needed.
• German course or theme specific training will be provided
• A apartment with other volunteers will be provided.
• The volunteer will plan, complete and evaluate their own project with help and support from their mentor and the team.
• The duties of the volunteer can be categorised into 3 areas:
• Coaching of our clients in the tasks of daily life, which include cooking, cleaning and shopping, meals. Apart from that, supporting the clients in personal hygiene matters; the EVS volunteers are also co-responsible for the way the meals are organised and the atmosphere in the living community. Volunteers don't have to be able to do everything, but they have to be willing to get involved in this area.
• Providing assistance in the youths' spare-time activities; the host organization offers the youngsters group weekends (skiing, camping, cultural trips, hiking, etc.) all the year round. EVS volunteers can also help with the required preparation, implementation and follow-up work. Organising the evenings is another area to which EVS volunteers can contribute their ideas and put them into practice. Generally speaking, all sorts of skills that meet the needs of our clients can be incorporated into the social programme, whether these concern sports, cultural or creative areas.
• Supporting youngsters with their school- and homework.
